Need help with living room interior.
Comments (2)Your new furniture looks lovely. A vibrant blue would work well with the white and wood furniture and also your sofa. You could think about a feature wall, (behind your sofa maybe) and some new curtains that pick out the chosen colour. Keep the rest of the scheme neutral, some black and white prints on the wall would add a hint of cool and also bring in the grey sofa cushions. Good luck!...See MoreNeed Help with Living Room/ Dining Room
Comments (9)A Roman blind is a good idea or curtains that hang outside of the window recess when open to allow maximum light to pour in. Whichever you choose, make sure they are hung high near the ceiling to make the ceiling feel higher up. What do you use the conservatory for? Is the door in the second photo the main entrance into the room? Would the table fit comfortably nearer the window end of the room instead? Then the sofa could go to the other end of the space - not sure if it fits. It's hard to see how the layout works from the photos and without the measurements or a floor plan. Alternatively, would the sofa fit it you turned it so that it faces the centre of the room rather than the window? I'd hang the seaweed mirror above the sideboard or behind the sofa (depending on final layout) and change the floor lamp to one which reaches over into the living space. Also, you need a much larger rug for the living space. The mirror and art are hung too high at the moment. After the layout is decided then you can think about maybe using wallpaper on one wall. Comments (3)Deep reds look lovely in old cottages. Get a couple of testers, paint A4 Sheets of paper so that you can move them around easily and avoid painting patches on the wall in dark colours that are harder to paint over. Go for it. You can also take one of the cushions from the couch to B&Q where the colour matching service for Valspar paint is really spot on. They can scan the red in the cushion and get a match for you that way, then you'll know it will work....See MoreNeed help decorating living room
Comments (5)Hi all! I though I thought I would show you the progress on our living room. South Africa went into Covid lock-down just as I planned to start working on the room, so I had to wait a bit until some of the industries started up again. We re-covered the two bucket chairs in a dark gray colour. It came out a little bit lighter than I wanted, but it still looks good to me. I also bought a jute rug to replace the red one, I really think it makes the coffee table stand out better. I also put up some of my framed paintings and vacation pictures. This is pretty much how things will stay for a while. Future plans include: It's my husband's job to tidy up/hide all the wiring and remove some of the tech stuff in the corner, he promised it will look much better once he's done. I am hinting at buying/inheriting a vintage hospital standing lamp from my dad to place next to the leather couch, maybe I'll paint it black to match the picture frames. Some time in the future I will find some side tables and a table lamp to go next to the chairs and the wood framed couch. Another painting will also go above the couch where the newspaper placeholder is currently. Since these pictures were taken I have swapped the positions of the chairs and the wood framed couch, and to me both configurations look good, I have no preference. Any comments or suggestions are welcome!...See MoreKP Designs/Decorating Den Interiors
