Voile Roman Blind for large windows?

Our house is currently being built and I would appreciate some advice on window dressing for large windows. Ideally I would like plantation shutters to allow light and privacy, but I think it would cost around £800 per window? My other thought was voile Roman Blinds with curtains but I am not sure if voile Roman Blinds would work with such large windows? Any advice would be welcome!

No problem. I think I'd be tempted by the Pleated blinds as you can have the sheer fabric you wanted. With the Roller blinds, they include a opaque stripe with a translucent stripe which you can then slide against each other to create opaque opaque for privacy or light control. They aren't available in blackout fabrics unfortunately - I'm not sure why the fabrics wouldn't be showing, but they're available in two ranges - cascade and lustre. Lustre has just that, a slight shimmer, and the colours range from neutrals, to black, silver, gold and red. Hi there, As others have said, it much depends how you use your kitchen. Lots of our customers do choose Roman blinds for their kitchens as they like the softness they provide - but you must think about things like splashes from sinks as well as cooking smells. One thing others have suggested is Wooden blinds. Fauxwood blinds are the perfect solution for kitchens - they look like wood, but they won't warp in steamy conditions and are really easy to wipe clean. Good luck with your search, Zoe

I like the double roller blind idea. I wouldn't go for curtains on two and something different on the middle as I think they'd look better all matching. You could also do voile blinds recessed and then Roman blinds mounted outside, I think that's the best and simplest option.

Lovely big windows! As others have suggested lightweight light coloured curtains wouldn't have the bulk of thick curtains, so wouldn't take up too much space on each side but they would help frame the windows. They would also still let some light in. If you had white or another light colour they would bring further brightness into the room. But you might only want them either side of the window. Also thought these examples of bay windows with roman blinds and simple curtains, still letting light in as the roman blinds could be in a voile like material or a neutral colour. That way you close off where privacy is needed and then have everything open the rest of the time. Hope that helps.
