Hello,
I love the colour of the walls but I have a north facing room - do you think the wall colour would work in a North facing room?

Agree with ribeno that the feature wall needs to work with the blue in your dining room. If you are replacing the carpet and you want a rug then I would recommend a wood floor rather than a carpet. Rugs work much better on wood floors. Something like this geometric Harlequin rug would pick out the colours of your sofa and chair and also tone with the blue wall in your dining room.

The most homely thing about my home is the lounge in the autumn/winter. A cosy fire, a sofa blanket, a cup of tea and my dog nestled between my husband and I. We are about to move and the new house doesn't have a fire. It is my top priority to install one before the first Autumn!

And a drawing with dimensions if you want room layout tips for example. For a family with three young children, lots of storage for toys will probably be useful. And practical upholstery, or maybe a leather or a slipcovered sofa (IKEA for example).
