Grey room what colour carpet
Comments (17)Hi Joanne. I think a matt black table may overpower the room a little. Perhaps look for something with a black frame or legs or even a glass table table to maximise feeling of space. If the budget can stretch I would go for wood, something similar to what you have with grey'ish and blonde tones or sand your floor. Pic frames would keep fairly thin if in black. You could stick to the colour palette you have and add texture and pattern and just add splashes of colour in art and with good quality faux flowers. Mustard I think is a little strong against pale grey but perhaps shades of blue, green or grape or muted tones mixed with a little darker grey. The room may be too small for 2 chairs but draw templates and try. If not one chair would be great angled against the cabinet. If you need extra seating consider an upholstered footstool instead of a coffee table. What type of ŵall lights are you having as that will dictate what goes in the alcoves? I hope you don't mind me saying but I would paint the picture rail grey, it looks a little low so will increase ceiling height and you won't have the break with the chimney breast. If you do have to go for carpet, paint a piece of card and take it along to the carpet shop with you....See MoreGrey room what colour carpet
Comments (9)I think i would have looked to stripping the floor too, but a nice overlayed wooden floor would be good. Try to steer away from the black and grey, it's going to look very cold. The T.V should be to the right of the Chimney breast and not on it. Otherwise the T.V becomes the focus not the fireplace. You also need to inject some warmth with an accent colour. Fiddes hard wax oil is great for floorboards Fiddes Either way with the floor you'll need a rug to add warmth and luxury back into the room, so go for thick and plush, I too like the grey one above....See MoreCarpet colour for grey walls
Comments (22)Joanne, I'm so happy I came across you're post, as I'm having the same dilemma. I have just bought my first house and have painted my living room in cornforth white. I have a similar layout to your living room, with the fireplace and shaker alcove doors. Problem is, I can't find a carpet that compliments the paint. I LOVE the carpet you have chosen, it goes so well. Do you mind me asking where it's from and what shade it is? Thanks, Sarah x...See MoreWill Grey/Silver Carpet Go Well????
Comments (20)Hi Chris, the colour scheme in your room is lovely and cosy and I think a wood or wood-effect laminate floor would really help to add to the welcoming feel. I'd suggest a neutral shade washed in cool ashen tones for a relaxed space or a warmer, richer colour if you'd like to create more contrast. Here are some ideas: Wembury Driftwood (laminate) Salcombe Dune Oak (real wood) Goodrich Coffee Oak (real wood) We offer free samples at the website if you'd like to take a closer look.
