Living room accessories: wall art, rug and cushions
Comments (11)Hello Claudia, Speaking from an art on walls point of view, I'm loving the challenge, so I present a few choice pieces for the wall above your two armchairs that I think will be a happy compliment to your existing decor and furnishings: As regards the picture above your piano, the colours work well with your room but you don't like the subject, right? If that's the case, this consideration will have to be a decision based on what subject(s) you really like or are quite sentimental to, as opposed to colour matching an art piece just to fit in with the rest of the room. If you do play the piano, musicians are very sentimental people, so you want something above the piano that you can "feel and connect to" when you're sitting there playing. It has to be sentimental to you, irrespective of what it is and what colour it may be, and not to consider it as part of the rooms overall decor. If there is anything I can be of further help with, feel free to contact me through my Houzz profile or website: http://thejonescollection.gallery All the best with whatever you decide to choose for your wall spaces....See MoreWhat colour towels and accessories?
Comments (12)In that case if possible pick up a colour from the hallway. Also, do you have a predominant accent colour that you use through your flat to tie it all together? I'm planning on using the same colour carpet for the stairs, landing and bedrooms. I have a window on the landing and I plan on fitting a window dressing the same colour as the one in the bathroom so it all ties in. Your bathroom looks amazing so far so the colour really is wide open. Do you have a favourite colour or accent colour ? Navy would work if you want a more sombre feel, orange for a happy go lucky feel, pink for a femine feel, white for a hotel feel etc (just my interpretation of course, but different colours evoke different feelings and emotions, think about what makes you feel good and start with it.) You could also try just buying flannels in different colours and photographing them in the space and then seeing which colour you really like. Then you can purchase the matching towels and return the other flannels simultaneously! Looks fab so far though so I don't think you can go wrong :-)...See MoreNot sure what colour cushions will suit my brown leather sofas
Comments (39)Hello christjne, I am just getting a few images for you.. Hold on.. Oka do some that are rather good.. Also their faux flower collection is really good. This one is from them and also their velvet in Porridge and Pale Sage could be nice along with Mole colour and Caviar is one they have too that would work possibly... .. There is also the option of throws and they have one in Mole and you could also think of stones and other shades of earthy tones... Group with 1 plain mole colour to give accent but I'd say 1 of each together on 1 or 2 sides and a throw or two for the sofa.. You may find some others you like too.. They also have Mirrors and the Cesario large could be very nice, it has a nice bevelled frame with dark wood and accent of gold that would be gr8 with the dark sofa.. All depends on budget as I have many more suggestions including antiques but for something under the one roof as it were... : ))...See MoreColour ideas for accessories and soft furnishings. Comments (7)Hi Loula, I would probably start with a geometric rug in grey and white. A shape mirroring that of the chair detailing. This will also still be crisp and contemporary like the rest of the space. Cushions in white will help tie the colours throughout the space rather than just having blocks of it. A large piece of art of work in the same colours on the wall behind the dining table would really work.. maybe a peaceful seascape to add a bit of tranquillity to an area for relaxing. Finish with a few accessories on the table and beside the TV to help bridge the gaps. Grey is a great contemporary colour that will work well with the scheme you have started. You now just need a few more layers to really bring it to life. At the end, as Liz suggested, you could add a single punch of a great colour to add a little warmth - my suggestions would be burnt orange or a deep rich purple. We offer single room design and/or great sourcing packages if you need help further help. Feel free to drop me a message and we can go through it in more detail. Otherwise, I hope this helps and I look forward to seeing the final room! All the best, Gina...See MoreYasmin Chopin Interior Design
