Definitely, they are essentially a pre cast concrete box in the ground, like a glorified manhole!

I have seen shelves for vegetables with holes in the wall to the outside courtyard. This was in Paris, France in an old house from the 16th century in Ile Saint Louis. It was in the pantry. I have in my kitchen a rectangular 20 cm piece of wood on the wall with a knob on that I suspect was used to open up for air. Now it is stuck and can not slie open. I am thinking to make a cupboard there for vegetabler storage, as electric fridges are not healthy.If I just had space. It is my dream to have a cool, natural pantry and a wood stove, and gas stove, as the electric stove is not healthy. The molecules in alive food move in a spiral and after elctricity heat, they move straight, after microwave they move in a complete disorder and the food is dead. No, I want a cool pantry.

We would like to consider the option of an air conditioner with a discharge pipe. The problem is that we are not allowed to make a hole in the wall. That is why we are thinking of letting the exhaust pipe discharge the warm air through the ventilation grille (bathroom or toilet). Does anyone have experience with that ?
