Basin and tap

Hi there
Beautiful basin and tap. I know you said supplied from Aston Matthews but I can't find it on their website. Do you happen to recall the style/ manufacturer? I'd be so grateful if you could let me know. We really like the brushed satin finished to the chrome and the basin shape.

No luck but did source an alternative from the Burlington Edwardian range (still preferred this one though).

Definitely the first one because you can operate it with one had and keep the selector arm at the 'warm' position for convenience. With the second one you have to use two hands to mix the warm and cold. Too fussy (and old fashioned!). It's not a matter of style (both are gorgeous) but ease of function.

I agree that contrasting finishes can look more interesting...think contrasting bag and shoes! Black and chrome would work fine, as would black and brass (and definitely on trend). And you're right, if you live in and around London, you have hard water scale build up to deal with. Just be aware, brass fittings take more care (and are more expensive)...i.e. more time in cleaning and you have to be careful with what you clean them with. If not cared for properly, they will eventually go black - literally! So, if you love scrubbing, then brass does look great...but if you'd rather be doing something else with your time, beside polishing your brass taps to perfection...then chrome is more practical. Hope that helps!
