This is the third time we’ve engaged Lievars, and we returned because they consistently deliver a genuinely high-end concept that still feels warm, inviting and practical for a busy country family home. This most recent project covered multiple areas. We commissioned a wine room and cinema room within the house, and a separate external stables project to create a gym, office and golf simulator. The wine room was executed exactly as briefed, premium in both concept and finish, with real attention to detail. A particular highlight was the cinema room. We wanted it to be user-friendly for children, spilt drinks and popcorn are a reality in our house, and Rebecca created a scheme that feels completely in keeping with the rest of our home while using hard-wearing, more affordable pieces. It’s a smart, considered solution that doesn’t compromise on style. We’re also delighted with the stables conversion. We asked for a neutral, Italian plastered-wall feel, and Rebecca achieved this beautifully. The golf sim, gym and office now feel cohesive, calm and elevated. What brings us back time and again is that Lievars don’t just understand the brief, they ensure it is executed to the highest standard on site. They are a cohesive team and make the whole process feel seamless, coordinating the various contractors and maintaining an uncompromising quality of finish. Rebecca and team have worked with us over the last two years to complete a “back to brickwork” renovation of a period property. After being so delighted with previous projects Leivars have been commissioned on in past, we chose to engage with them for our latest set of renovations. Having purchased a pretty period property a few years ago we were struggling to find the right furniture and finish to do justice to the proportions of our home but which suited our modern, eclectic style. We felt slightly paralysed as had attempted to use other interior designers but been disappointed with the suggestions proffered and the results. From the moment we met Rebecca we felt very happy that we were in safe hands and suddenly were excited to move forward. Rebecca has not disappointed. So far Rebecca has done two amazing boys bedrooms for us, bright yet calming and tailored to each of our sons personalities. Rebecca has also designed the most beautiful playroom for us with loads of storage for all the plastic but which tidies up in an instant (unfortunately not by itself) to be a stunning sitting room. Rebecca is now working her magic on our living room and we are so excited to sit back and enjoy the results. Rebecca’s eye for design is apparent from the photos of her work and from the sheer number of awards and commendations that she has. However, here are a few things about Rebecca that may not be immediately obvious: -Her pricing is entirely transparent, so you can see exactly what you will spend on design fees from the outset; but also the savings that you will make from taking advantage of Rebecca’s trade discount. It was a revelation to us that an interior designer could actually save us money! -She uses a wide range of suppliers, from high-end, luxury, design-led Italian manufacturers to local and unique small businesses. For our kids bedrooms, Rebecca even included a few carefully curated pieces from well-known online retailers, which were as pleasing on the eye as the wallet. No more scouring the internet for the perfect piece, only to be disappointed with the actual product when it arrives! -She is very responsive and professional. If you have a question for Rebecca she will get back to you immediately, provided that she isn’t driving or with a client (and even then you would be unlikely not to hear from her by the end of the day). -You get Rebecca when you want Rebecca! Rebecca is responsible for all design projects (not anyone else) so you know that you are getting the benefit of her experience and talent at all times. -Rebecca will make your home look beautiful but she also thinks of practicalities. For example, we incorporated a gorgeous jewel-toned velvet sofa in our kids playroom which looks incredible but liable to be destroyed by our 3 lively children. However, this sofa is also the most comfortable seat in the house as well as being coated in some amazing product that Rebecca recommended that literally makes any spill easy to wipe away. -Rebecca uses excellent tradesmen. My husband has meticulously high standards when it comes to finish and even he has not been disappointed (that really is saying something). -You get to choose exactly how involved you are in the design of your project. Initially we were keen to steer the whole project and send Rebecca back to the drawing board if we felt this was necessary (which she was very happy to do). However, as time has gone by we absolutely trust that Rebecca just “gets us” and that, in fact, her eye for design and creativity far exceed our own! Yes, we still approve absolutely everything Rebecca does and she often sends us carefully selected “choices” to make (for example, a recent email with 6 or so different coffee tables that would work for our space) but increasingly we find that we agree with her choice. It’s a great feeling to find someone who you can rely on to make design decisions and saves my husband and I an awful lot of time, arguments and agonising!

Is the second time I’ve worked with Leivars and once again I had a very positive. I found that did they listen to me and what I wanted, they showed me a range of ideas and encourage me to try ideas outside of my comfort zone, I was happy with the fact they listened to what I wanted to spend budget wise and the final design, they achieved a cohesive flow throughout my home and I’m happy with the trades recommended for the project.

It was a pleasure from start to finish working with Rebecca and her team. They were so professional and went beyond our expectations of the kitchen project they worked on for us. I loved how clearly they communicated but also how they came to know our family and designed us an interior that fitted our needs better than we could have imagined. We initially contacted Rebecca Leivars in November 2017 to help us decorate our newly purchased Georgian town home. However it quickly became clear that the house would require a complete renovation from top to bottom, including a remodeled kitchen, the design and installation of several new bathrooms, a wine cellar, a pantry, a bar, and substantial joinery throughout the house. Leivars and the building company, WSCB, made an excellent team. Rebecca helped us navigate through the difficult planning issues that arose from the renovation of a listed building. I contacted Rebecca after we'd spent three years living in our house after renovating it extensively. I had lost all enthusiasm for finishing it and felt we needed someone to help push us to the end and achieve the look and finish I'd dreamt of. Rebecca worked on three reception/ ground floor rooms for us. She took the time to understand our objectives for each room and how they would be used. I was very keen on built in storage and she designed some fabulous units including a window seat and a TV and media unit. Rebecca is highly creative and has a real flair for what she does. She pushed me out of my comfort zone on occasions to consider new things (such as proper cinema seating for our tv room and much darker colours than I would normally go for) and I'm very glad she did, as I'm over the moon with the end result. She has great contacts with suppliers, and if anything went wrong, ( a lamp that was delivered was bent in one place) it was sorted immediately and a replacement followed. Rebecca is abundant with drive and energy and incredibly likeable. I am extremely happy with the end result of our project and would highly recommend her to others.

Working with Leivars has been a revelation for us. I had no idea going into this quite how much of the project, contractor and supplier management they would take on and sort out - slickly, way better than we ever could ourselves and always with our best interest first. Leivars have without question saved us more than they cost, our period house has been renovated respectfully and looks fabulous, and we're still on good terms with the neighbours, council and all the contractors. Everything works beautifully and the finish is a standard I didn't even know contractors were capable of. Leivars have an eye for finding and combining decor and furnishings we simply never would have found ourselves. We really didn't give Leivars much coherent input as to what we were trying to achieve, but somehow Rebecca managed to incorporate our taste, our random pieces from here and there, and pull it all together. I wouldn't hesitate to use Leivars again, and have already recommended them to others.

Rebecca was a joy to deal with. She was able to reconcile the different views myself and my husband had about the project (good therapist!) and was persistent in finding a solution that met our expectations. She came up with lots of fresh and creative ideas that were appropriately priced. We are both delighted with the result!

When we started out project we had a vague idea to dismantle a large conservatory, build an extension and somehow increase the size of one or two bedrooms. Our house is in the countryside, with 2 acres and a large pond. The original house was small and very old but bits have been added over the years making it quite hotchpotch of bits a pieces. When we appointed Leivars, Rebecca spent a lot of time "interviewing" us and our children to understand what we really wanted and how will like to live. As a result we understood that we needed something far more ambitious and so embarked on a very different project to create a big, modern family home completely sympathetic to it's beautiful surroundings. We agree a fixed fee for Leivars to design and project manage which covered everything from architects, interior design, exterior works, landscaping, managing building works, negotiation of fees, quality control and so on. This was particularly important as we live overseas. The results on all accounts well exceeded our expectations. Rebecca and her team are a joy to work with - very professional, understanding, flexible, creative, very friendly and unpretentious. No request was too much trouble. Any change we asked for was implemented with no problems (even when this created a lot of extra work). Many problem areas were resolved with creativity and practicality. We were constantly in awe or the enthusiasm and attention to detail of Rebecca and her whole team. Despite a number of unforeseen technical issues, and changes in scope, we stuck to the agreed fixed fee and I believe we received massive value for money. For us this huge project created minimum stress and we now have an amazing family home which completely exceeded our expectation. We can't wait to move back tot he UK to live there full time. We have no hesitation in recommending Leivars in all respect. Thank you so much!

We used Leivars for a major project that had us moving from our 3-bed flat to a large 6-bed house which we comprehensively refurbished over 18 months. Having never used a designer in the past (and being inherently cynical about "consultants"), we questioned whether we needed one at all. Having been through the process, we can now say that engaging Leivars was certainly one of the best of the many decisions we made - and probably one of the most cost effective by the end of it (and that's excluding the divorce costs we probably would have incurred without her). Rebecca and her team were a pleasure to work with. We hadn't anticipated they could add so much value in a broad range of areas - not just furniture and fabrics but paints, floors, kitchen design and even interfacing with our architect, builders and kitchen company (the latter clearly being outside her contract, but thank goodness she got involved because she could see we were not as happy as we should have been with the kitchen direction). Rebecca really became our trusted friend and advisor. She was never pushy, intimidating or precious about anything. She had great ideas and was great at sourcing things, not just working off a list of existing suppliers but also finding new things when we required them. We always felt comfortable saying "no, don't like it," and Rebecca would always smile and say "ok, no problem, we'll keep looking, anything in particular you can put your finger on?" We were very cost and value conscious and she was great in finding both cheap things and identifying where going cheap was a false economy. She managed to get great discounts (even on new suppliers), which probably made the entire exercise of working with her pay for itself. Lastly, she personally inspected everything when it was in place, and if something arrived with a tiny blemish or not exactly as ordered, she fought our corner assiduously. In summary, thank goodness we had Leivars with us. It transformed the outcome into something wonderful and made the process infinitely better for us. We would enthusiastically recommend Leivars.

Leivars did the most fantastic job for us. They completed a very tricky remodel of two bathrooms and our master bedroom and the results were better than we could have expected. Throughout the whole design process Rebecca and her team were very responsive and during the works dealt quickly with unexpected logistical issues that arose. Our project was the addition of a large orangery extension which needed furnishing along with updating the existing living areas. We engaged with LEIVARS after admiring the images of previous projects we found on Houzz. We had a strong idea about the look we wanted to achieve, but definitely needed professional guidance on how to get there. From the outset, Rebecca was enthusiastic about the project and it was immediately clear that she is an individual who is at the top of her game. Our introductory meeting even resulted in us making last minute changes to the build in terms of electrical wiring and window heights, which we are eternally grateful for. Rebecca’s strength was her brilliance in taking our particular tastes and needs into consideration, whilst at the same time having her own vision in getting a room looking just right. We are a soft furnishing and upholstery company working mainly for the trade, our service includes the manufacture and installation of curtains, blinds, all aspects of soft furnishings including cushions, bedspreads, headboards and general upholstery and reupholstery. We have worked as a contractor with Leivars Ltd for over 7 years on approx. 25 projects some large £ 25,000 - £ 30,000 some small single item projects. We have found them to be very professional in their approach to the client and diligent with respect to the quality of the product and the deadlines required for the finished project. They have supplied us with clear instructions of the clients requirements and delivery needs.

Leivars knew what we wanted from the vaguest description and also knew how to make it perfect. We had been living with lemon yellow walls and ill fitting beige furniture since moving in our home 4 years ago. In the meantime we had changed all the other and in doing so run the gauntlet of trying to find any trade professional that we could rely on in London. Anyone who has tried to hold down busy jobs whilst simultaneously trying to decide what decor works, and more importantly who can do the work to anything like the right standard will empathise with our challenge. By the time we had done the rest of the house we were very wary of our own ability to get the bedroom we dreamed of. We thought about using a designer but were a bit scared that we would end up paying too much and getting the designer's dream, not ours - so we asked Loaf if they knew of any designers. They recommended Rebecca Leivars and from the first call, we felt in safe hands. Not only did the words "sort of like Loaf", "kind of French style", and "like a house I stayed at by the beach in Devon once" make sense to her as a brief, she also got that with 2 kids and 4 pets, whatever she designed had to stand up to a greater than usual robustness. She kept to our budget and importantly to us, renovated completely before Christmas. She identified the best team to work with (Peter and his team did the work whilst we were in situ and managed around the said children and animals with great skills and no mess). When things did go wrong (we asked for a soundbar which encroached on the fitted blinds), she got the bespoke blinds remade in a day. And best of all, we love it, I still can't believe it is my room when I wake up every day, and maybe one day we will deserve a room this lovely. Rebecca thinks of little extras that make a room, she pushed us to be honest with her to make sure we got exactly what we wanted and kept us up to speed with what was happening at all points. I just wish I had contacted her when we first moved to do the whole house, it would have cost us less than doing the project work ourselves, saved a lot of stress and it would look a lot better too.

A friend recommended Rebecca after we had a rough time with another designer. We went from someone telling us what we should have to someone who was prepared to listen, absorb and then feedback creatively. At the end of a year long build, it was wonderful to feel like someone had taken the time and trouble to listen to what we wanted and then come up with better ideas! Thoroughly professional, courteous, humorous but most importantly, one of the most creatively professional people we have ever worked with. She has numerous trade contacts but her ideas were inspiring. What more can you ask.

LEIVARS has worked on our home over two phases from January 2011 to August 2014, initially undertaking the bulk of the refurbishment of our roof terrace and redesign, of our reception and dining room, hallways, and bathroom and now latterly the redesign of our kitchen and media room. Throughout the 3 year process we have been extremely impressed by their attention to detail. In particular, the way in which Rebecca [ company founder] handled a very technically difficult roof terrace conversion within a conservation area in St Johns Wood and extremely complex party wall matters. The end result of Rebecca's hard work has left us with a house that we love and are proud to show off. The finishes and level of design detail reflect exactly what we wanted. Rececca was highly approachable, managing the entire process from start to finish and keeping us informed through out. We highly recommend LEIVARS as a design practice and would use them again and again.

LEIVARS did an outstanding job on our house. I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with Rebecca. She intuitively knew what I was looking to improve in my house and helped me realise the best scenarios for each room. Communication with Rebecca was excellent and hassle-free. I feel that I had to show my gratitude to Rebecca for the work she carried out in converting two derelict cottages in Cornwall. Rebecca, through her capabilities, not only handled all the problems with the worst builders I have ever worked with but she remained loyal to the project even making three visits from Brighton to Cornwall in order to sort this situation out at no charge beyond her original quote. I am delighted with her professionalism and with the final product which the holiday letting agents have concurred in how wonderful the two cottages look. I would fully recommend Rebecca without hesitation and I will be using her on future projects. And she is now currently working on my own home in London.

Design, build and project management of bespoke bedroom and bathroom. Having travelled and spent many a night in luxury hotels, we decided that we wanted to have our own luxury hotel right here at home but without really being able to fully decide on our favourite, we hired Leivars to help us narrow our requirement. Having someone listen to us and fully understand our requirement without giving us their opinions made it refreshingly simple to discuss, change and arrive at our final design. The selection of fabric, paint, carpet was made, the budget was set and a few meetings later it was time to move out for 6 weeks while the work happened. The project involving trades, suppliers and cleaners was managed so smoothly that we had one point of contact and for us, it just seemed to happen. We left our old place and arrived to something out of this world. During the project time, regular updates on progress were made giving us faith that everything was not only on budget but also on track for time to allow us to return. Finally, the work was completed. We have arrived at and now live in our very own luxury apartment and I don't have the vocabulary to express just how much I could and would recommend them. Rebecca Leivars interior designed my flat and project managed the subsequent building works for six months in 2009, having been recommended to me by a friend and previous client. She attended numerous client meetings, sourced all fixtures and fittings, selected the builders and regularly attended site throughout the construction phase. The work was completed to budget and on time. Throughout her engagement, I found Becky totally professional, hard working, talented, personally pleasant and responsive to my needs as client. She was always reliable and punctual in attending meetings. Numerous friends have complimented me on the design of my flat since Becky's work. We have worked with Rebecca for a year now completing the interior of our house. I wasn't convinced about getting an interior designer to start with but Rebecca has been absolutely amazing in every way and has surpassed all our expectations. Miss Leivars project managed a complete renovation of my son's house in Surbiton, which you will see in photographs on her website. She was totally professional, interfaced between the builder and myself and dealt with difficult situations as they arose. I can not speak too highly of her abilities both in design and in the basic managing of rewiring, replumbing and everything which goes with a complete renovation of a house built in 1863.
