I love wood counter top's even though they are more work than laminate. The use a natural mix of organic beeswax and mineral oil - reapplying every couple of months. This will form a food save protective layer that will keep them looking good. You'll see if you put a drop of water on the top it'll simply bead rather than soaking in. Hi, Is there anything that makes you think it would be difficult to remove and replace the existing tiles? It looks like you have a wall hung wc pan (hard to tell in the photos), so no problem with that, and the tiled bath panel helps as well. If there was electric underfloor heating then it would make sense to avoid lifting the existing but otherwise its the best way to do it. If fitting a new floor you would want to have new sealant to the perimeter of the room, floors to wall, anyway so that would cover any join between the new floor and existing walls. Personally I would remove and replace with whatever you like, tiles amtico etc. etc. Then you have a brand new floor that you know will last. Sheet vinyl over the top of the existing will show the indentations of the existing grout lines and anything else will add unnecessary height to the threshold and may be uneven. Good luck with the work and make sure to post up photos when its all done.

I had this myself recently - I ended up I did go with a wooden table - a vintage one with multiple shades so it would still contrast and not look too much/samey. I also put a jute rug beneath mine and once you dress the top with a runner and a plant/vase etc it looks great. Alternatively white always works and I love concrete but expensive - concrete resin - metal can also be a good option - I wouldn't go with glass - I feel it's dated.

Finally getting around to thinking about finishing the painting again ... and I went to b&q but all the white masonry there was pure white or yellow toned. Got some card samples of valspar but wow - it’s expensive and can’t decide between some. I have a Johnstone’s and dulux paint mix service closer to me and they mix F&B colours at Johnstone’s. Wondering if Wimbourne white is any good??? I tried emailing K rend AGAIN to ask what paint matches their pure white render (which is just off white) but no response. Any experience with wimbourne? Is it a warmer/softer not blue white than timeless?
