Paint removal off wooden floors
Comments (4)The only / best way to refinish and remove the red paint from your floorboards is to sand them, as MagMoo advised above. In my ( personal experience of sanding a wooden floor ) I would be inclined to hire someone locally or if you D.I.Y. do it with a hand held electrical sander. Drum sanders / belt sanders are hard to use / control if you have not used one before .... the ones available to hire are extremely powerful beasts that may cause a lot of extra finishing work in areas that have scorched / over sanded etc . Sounds laborious but in the long run easier, you will need to use a finishing / edging sander around the perimeter of the room anyway and will achieve a wonderful finish (work in the direction of the grain - length of the floorboards). Comments (8)Osmo oil is a beautiful finish but not waterproof and not permanent; it requires annual work to maintain. We have used Matt ronseal diamond hard varnish on floors, utility room worktops and waxed furniture tops that have suffered water ingress; all water issues were cured long term....See Morewooden floor paint colour dilemma
Comments (4)It is a bit dark and ofcourse the effect is different by photograph but colours look wonderful to me. If you are not quite sure the answer may lie in the other elements of design: Space, Objects, Form, Texture, Lighting, Furniture, Colour. E.g. the pictures on the walls may be better balanced placed closer together in line with the headboard, you may want to see where you are going better with ambient lighting, the shapes of furniture and objects may need to tie more... I would not know without doing the research and the work but hope that helps....See MoreSoCal Contractor
