What do you use for the temperature control? Did you use an air con or refrigeration unit? Does the glass not fog up?

In the middle of a long drawn out revamp, coffee table relegated to the tip, it absence planned to last unsuitable within the new decor. But I missed it.!!!! And needs must. I discovered that using our old, 'long tall Sally' wooden stool was actually great for my coffee cup and nibbles. Matter of fact it looks rather cool. So I'm on the look out for a twin for my next project. Just need to decide what colour to paint them.

Hi, I would move the breakfast bar further into the lounge/diner area, It looks like a pretty big room so it could take it. Extend the run of units to regain storage lost from lack of wall units. Which BTW is a good move. Too many people go for the traditional Base and wall unit design and its a bit tired. The lack of wall units on the Hob wall will make the room seem bigger and more contemporary. Sometimes blurring the boundary between rooms makes for a more flowing design. I would however look at the high tower unit config again. I've designed and fitted kitchens for 25 years and personally I wouldn't put a high tower unit against a base unit on an adjacent wall in that manner. It will make the worktop mounted unit in the corner very difficult to reach. Also fit Magic corners to corner base units. Makes better use of the space, although research online for best prices as ALL retail kitchen stores charge 3 times what they cost. As far as which brand? There isn't much to choose between most high street. Wren are no worse than Howdens or magnet , I've fitted them all, but they probably will match any price you get and there is always a bit more they will discount so its worth haggling. Personally I would go with a local independent who supplies second nature kitchens for example. And if you do have somebody who has some experience in fitting , it would certainly be worth asking their advice. It's not as easy as most people think it is. Good luck with your project.

Wow that looks beautiful, I am jealous of the brick. We wanted a very similar colour brick but the council wouldn’t allow and I didn’t want the red brick so we went with blocks and hopefully crisp render. We started our build towards end of Jan. Double extension, the foundations laid and then had the structural engineer out and final final details drawn up. The ground floor blocks have been laid and the scaffold has gone up so don’t know how long that will take. Our builders seem on track and have said August finish but I think it will be September/October Tani how many bedrooms did you have built and how many rooms downstairs? Also from start date to now what has the time scale been? Xx

if you use a decent quality thick single glazed panel and it is sealed it should not mist up at temperatures around 14 deg. There are few specialist refrigeration systems for wine cooling and some a/c are adjustable to lower temperatures than the standard 18 deg c
