Hi Sophie one quick solution is to attach the headboard to your divan base rather than the wall. Though if you prefer securing the headboard to the wall, and don’t want the hassle of removing the dado, you could secure the headboard to wooden spacers (blocks of wood, with a projection slighter more than the dado rail, attached to the wall) so the headboard is secure and the dado rail is still in place. This will leave a gap around the sides and back of the headboard, which may look unsightly if not covered. Hope that helps! PB

Hi, I would love to see the end result if you do have any pictures.. My room has no real wall to put bed against.. one alcove is 100cm.. the other 120cm however it slopes where roof is, the goes into a large L or maybe even a L and another backwards L.. Did you just get the bedroom chimney breast taken out and/pr downstairs too?

Hi Teresa, I work with Olympia Upholstery - they are able to build and upholster or re-upholster existing piece. They can integrate electrics, bed base fittings and work from a sketch. I would go with three or five, beautiful restful colours. I would also align the tables and lamps to the centre of each panel. Would that mean getting a bigger bed? I recently downsized from super king to king and now can’t wait for an excuse to go back to super king. Chandelier looks fabulous!
