Exterior revamp

I what to revamp the front of my house- after much deliberation I want to keep the brick and paint the rest. Need help with colour that will give my house a modern feel. I was thinking blue? I want a two tone look but concerned about roller door guttering and pole colours?

I think your house looks great as it is. It needs more kerb appeal! How about something growing? If the front gets light I would suggest window boxes and growing trailing plants. Cheaper and more attractive too!

I would suggest all white in an oil-based finish which is longer lasting.
Can add the garage door as a brave feature colour of you want (yes it's paintable) and if you really want you could replace or repaint the guttering as well

I would agree with the previous comments and suggest the following; 1. If DIY confident pick a nice masonry paint colour ( fan of Dulux cobblestone) and paint house brick front and side including side of steps. Paint railings. 2. Purchase two/three garden trellis and cut to size, paint with same colour masonry paint and place around step structure. Plant a few evergreen creepers in front to soften and add colour. 3. Dig a planting area perpendicular to house along driveway from trellis to front entrance and plant with a low evergreen hedge such as box hedging or a mix of box with grasses. 4. Repair lawn. 5. Cut and shape plant/hedge at bend in of garden or remove entirely if in bad shape. Budget of £300 - £500. Best of luck!!

It all comes down to budget as always. The bigger the budge the more you can do. I would be really mindful of the fact, that if you change the facade, it would be better if you could change the windows. The wood cladding I agree would look fabulous, you could have the bottom a lovely grey to tone in. However, neither will look good with bog standard white windows, as both look better with a dark grey, thinner Aluminium Frame or a Chunkier Sandy Beige Frame. When you add white windows, the effect is not quite so slick The pic above shows the white windows with the cladding and it would look a lot better with the darker, thinner frames. If you can't afford to change or colour bond the windows, then maybe go for all over colour, a dark grey would be good, and consider changing the Front door for impact. Alternatively, work towards doing the ultimate change. The vertical wood cladding, with a grey underneath and a door to match the wood. Thinner dark pewter aluminium framed windows etc. sorry about the mock up quality!

I don't know how this will look, as I'm not sure of the materials in use, however how about:

White walls
Grey windows/metal work
Dark Grey garage door
Modern wooden front door?

You could even use the light wood effect to cover the existing brickwork?

Added a rather fast, and not the best render, but just so you get the general idea I'm talking about.

You could even go as far as replacing the wire "fence" with a glass one, put some boxed hedging around the front etc
