Bedroom furniture

Hi, could this sort of thing be built with a single wardrobe on each side instead of a two door wardrobe (if the wall wasn't wide enough)? Is the space suitable for a king size bed? And finally would it come in any other finish? Thanks

Yes, It could. You can have single wardrobe instead of double on each side.

The width of a single wardrobe is 47cm.

The bridge/overbed unit comes in two sizes:

4ft6 - with space for the bed 148.5cm (total width of the unit - 241cm)

and

5ft - with space for the bed 168.5cm (total width of the unit - 261cm)

If the headboard of your bed is smaller then 148.5cm or 168.5cm you can use your own bed, or you could have matching bed as this customer did (please check few added pictures in this gallery).

This set comes in three colours:

1. Sonoma Oak

2. Beech Effect

3. Natural Beech Effect

Agree with advice above. I’ve done quite a few pieces -would not use chalk paint. I use a small black and decker detail sander (they don’t seem to last too long but are usually not expensive), then a good quality undercoat is vital (I use one made by Mythic which was recommended to me when I had a disaster with some Farrow and Ball paint which refused to dry, but am struggling to find a supplier now, so Zinnser is probably the answer)Then a satinwood - agreed it can get knocked but is a really nice finish and easily touched up. I use a brush but just because I like the finish. I used to use Graham & Green knobs (especially the crystal ones) but recently just purchased some from eBay and they looked great.

I would try to avoid gloss finished cabinets in a bedroom as they get covered in dust. One of those says gloss but not the other so you will need them to match. The headboard looks nice. However in my opinion the colour of the walls against the colour of the carpet just don’t work and adding even more colour into the equation (black) won’t help either. Can you swap the carpet to a different colour? Other to that keep the carpet but paint the walls in a different colour to blend in better with the carpet colour perhaps using more cream/gold based colours which will work with the brown.
