I do quite a lot of these. I'd recommend buying off the shelf doors ( Wickes are surprisingly good ) and have a handyman / joiner to fit them. Is there a reason why you need made to measure? Standard doors are 2220 high, you will obviously need a frame to hang them from, so if you bring the top down to the standard height, you will save on having made to measure. Is that possible? Unless you know how they are going to be fitted, then i'd ask a joiner / handyman first. Sliding doors are heavy items and need a good frame to fix to. So i'd take advise on that before ordering something. Get at least three quotes and ideas and compare them all. Not trying to put joiners out of work, but they charge an awful lot more than a handyman. However, do your research, and find one that has a good portfolio of work!

We would advise it is completely dependant on the space and your requirements. Walk-in wardrobes look great if they are kept tidy, however a plus for having doors is that it can conceal any mess and give more protection for clothing. Another trend for walk-in wardrobes is to have smoked glass doors mixed with open elements this could also work with matt lacquered doors. Alternatively you could choose to have open elements for items such as bags, shoes or coats (things you know that are easy to keep tidy) then hinged doors for other modules.

Trade handles and hinges for rails and wheels. Sliding wardrobe doors don’t take any space to open, but they do add modern style to a room. Choose from pairs of sliding doors or combine panels for a custom look. Now if only they would close themselves. (We’ll mention that to our designers😉) Would you like 1 or 2?

Changing the handles (middle of door) and a bit of paint will improve them a lot. Would wait with decorative trim, can always add later. (scrolling pulls and knobs is fun)
