L Shaped Living/Dining Room
Comments (7)Good morning! It looks like a lovely space; where is the kitchen relative to these rooms? Also, is the fireplace in that position, or are you planning to put it in? I ask because it doesn't show on the floor plan, but appears on your 3D plan. Just looking at this it might make sense to switch the table and sofa areas, as the living area then would be larger, however this depends on how the whole house fits together....See MoreL-Shaped Living room - incorporating separate TV zone & living area?
Comments (8)Hi Sophie, so sorry to be a pain but we would need all the dimensions and where the window are on the wall, and the width of the windows and doors, like this:- metres and cm's are easier. I guessed:- So i made the entrance in to a reading area with bookcases and an armchair. Followed by a good desk to break up the long wall, leading to a seating area overlooking the garden. Tucked around the corner is the T.V area....See MoreLayout for L-shaped living room
Comments (2)Hey Hannah, You've smashed this layout. Everything is sitting in the right areas, but we do have some suggestions as to how a few pieces are placed. 1. the sofa - we think you should flip it so that the longer end is facing the wall. You can then pop the accent chair, lamp & maybe a side table against the wall with a piece of art hanging right behind them. This way you make use of the light coming through the window, cover the radiator but also create an intimate corner for reading or chilling in general on the other end. 2. the L-shaped desk should be against that wall. Moving in & out of that space - especially of 2 people are using it at once - will be a slight nuisance. The backs of your monitor & laptop screens will also be on show throughout (potentially even when you're dining) with cables dangling from the ends. We think that by positioning yourselves facing the wall, you can enjoy a piece of hung artwork or shelving with your favourite bits & bobs but also you'll be hiding a plethora of techy bits which become an eyesore in a well designed multi-faceted space. 3. lastly, you seem to want a dining table with both chairs & a bench for seating. We think your dining chairs should be against the wall (for added visual height) while the bench sits opposite them. You can then zone the space with rugs as you have that fit the space perfectly. All in all, we love what you've done with the layout & hope our suggestions help you finish it up nicely!...See MoreI need help for T Shaped Living room+ Dining room layout
Comments (4)Hi Yasemin, I have added a very basic templated 3D model to give you the gist of how I’d lay out the space. Please take no notice of the styling, the templates are just what I had to hand on the computer. So I would use bench seating along the back wall for your dining table seating. This would allow you to push the table back further than you can with conventional chairs and thus keep traffic flow unrestricted through the space. There are a wide range of benches available these days from basic and beautiful wooden constructions (just add cushions if you wish), to sumptuous fully upholstered luxury pieces. There is also room for a sideboard for your tableware, you could create a beautiful sightline out of this by adorning it with table lamps and/or decorative accessories. Some wall art would be great here too. I wasn’t sure what the space was at the other end of the room (with glazed door), is this your main entrance? If it is you will need an outerwear storage facility of some sort. If its not a main traffic route then it could be a lovely space for a desk and study area. Good luck with your new apartment. L :)...See Morepippamc
