Does this rug work?

I have been struggling with this room for months and months.... I've tried a few rugs and haven't liked them. Decided to take the one from my dining room and try it. Thoughts? Wasn't sure if the traditional and contemporary styles clash? I'm moving more towards contemporary. Ignore the mantel, haven't had a chance to decorate it. Or paint the wall in the corner. Thanks everyone;)

Comments (8)I’d suggest getting a colour chart from Farrow and ball, Little greene or Paint and Paper library and choosing colours that are put together, that way you know they will work together in your kitchen. Comments (12)If you are wall mounting TV, your art could move to behind the couch. If you don't want to repaint, then this move will give more life to this area. The shelf unit might be better where the mirror is and the mirror relocated elsewhere . Personally, i doubt i would find getting glimpses of my self as i lounge inelegantly on my couch restfull! 8 years agoI am guessing like others that your drapes are dark turquoise. Beautiful rug, but probably should go back to dining room. Try these more contemporary and bring in additional color.
