Reclaimed wood was edged/planned/squared and then attached using brad nail fasteners. Each piece was cut to size and selected carefully to create the overall balance.

Hello francessebesta, Yes I think it could look nice to paint all the woodwork.. Would you consider the chimney breast too? Then perhaps this could steer you in the choice of colour you may want to paint all the wood, which as minnie has said could be darker.. Like the canvas! .. This could be the inspiration for the scheme.. so colours that might be complimentary to this would be lovely.. (it's slightly to the right).. I also like the little bowl on the mantle.. Colours that would be fantastic are greys, or charcoals.. or if you prefer a lighter scheme, stones and plaster type colours... Little Greene or Farrow and Ball are good places websites to look at.. Think the fireplace could really stand out beautifully and the canvas is lovely.. : ))

I have Nuance panels in my shower from Bushboard. If you look on their website you'll see all the design which fall into 3 price groups. You need BB Complete to use as adhesive and a joint filler which will offer an extended guarantee. There are cheaper panels but you get what you pay for. I too love the idea of no grout. I was sick and tired of cleaning my old tiles. The Nuance looks lovely and is so easy to keep clean.
