I just have to say how much I LOVE this kitchen! Almost every search I've ever done on HOUZZ for my dream kitchen is answered by your designs.
I just wanted to congratulate you on a superbly practical, functional, stylish and beautiful kitchen!

I love mirrored "open top" boxes - get them as tall as the tallest products. They make a small area look sleek and brighter , and he can still just grab and drop back when he has used stuff. I'd get a row of maybe four identical , about as narrow as a shoebox size or smaller so that they just sit along the top nicely together. weddingbee a few years back shows how to make them of you can't find any locally. If your back wall was papered I'd be papering the boxes to match and then they wouldn't be so noticeable. (I'm a one for wallpaper!)

Hello, If you had young kids who will fall off the edge. Put a chic checked patterned black steel glass panel or one piece no frame glass panel (like commercial glass). I am guessing your pillar size is around 250mm. Then you can do a custom made wrap around, extend out around 250mm a little wider. So total you will have 500mm wide on top, as a top you can use a piece of beautiful luxury quartz/ marble, cheaper options to use wood such as oak, walnut. Then under the top, you can create cabinet / open shelves for books underneath / on top for decorations / create sitting cushion on top. Alternatives, many options, such as custom made patterned frame made by wood as a frame. If you do not have kids. Do not worry about the edge, do it like those Mediterranean and Spanish style, just stone top such as marble, stones, tiles like an open seating area with nice cushions. Like Romeo and Juliet.
