I really like the wooden floor. I see many okay ones, bus some are

just beautiful in themselves. This is one of them. Any suggestions on what I can do. The wood used. Stain color and from whom you purchased it from or
maybe a seller in my area that has nice ones. Washington DC.

Thankyou for your interest, as we are located in the UK I would not be able to recommend a supplier. I believe the flooring is engineered oak boards, but do not have the specific details.

I would put the pair of glass candle lamps together on the right side chest and opt for sidelamps with more oomph - something bigger and squat. You could also add other ornaments in different heights grouped together - don't split matching items too symmetrically, balance is key but symmetry may be boring. A geometrically patterned rug or two will look nice alonside the bed and/or at the foot of it. A narrow console unit would look nice beneath the tv; you could go for vintage as your style is very simple. Don't be afraid to dare a little - playing safe is not always the safest!!! Add a comfy reading chair with lampstand and cushions and a footwarmer or plaid on the bed and some more wall art - the heart is a great start but add more. Think layers. You have a great basic palate to funk it up a lot!

Like others have said, I personally would paint all four walls the dark blue (if the room is as light and bright as it looks in the photo). It does seem counter-intuitive to paint a bright room a dark colour, but if the quality of light is good, using a dark colour can really highlight that quality. And the lovely thing about the dark F&B paints, in my experience, is the way they look different at different times of day. I think the combination of dark blue-grey-tan is lovely, and a large mirror against a dark blue wall would look fantastic. If you decided that the room wasn't well-lit enough for all dark blue, I would go for just one wall - two walls one colour and the other two walls another colour might look like you just couldn't make up your mind. And by the way, I really like the way you've mismatched your sofas - not always an easy thing to get right!

A real aged wood floor like yours can be a beautiful feature; mine looked like attached after thorough sanding and varnishing (that picture taken nine years after the work). If you want to preserve the classical / original style of the flat - start with keeping the floor really! It's possible to whitewash it (just apply limewash after sanding/cleaning) but it being softwood (pine), a few hard varnish coats afterwards may still be useful to protect it. Unless major structural work touches that floor... would really try to keep it. Mine had to go, structural work underneath, and woodworm...the one thing I'm really sad I lost.

I'll second what others said before me- concrete doesn't NEED to be industrial at all. It is used often to achieve this effect, but it's really a pretty natural material, like stone! So if you think of your concrete as you would think of stone, a whole new realm of possibilities opens up -- and adding wood and other natural materials and plants will work very well to get you to the effect you want.
