Under stair cupboard needed

Hi I have a space under a the stairs I want to use its in the living room but under the stairs. There is a door but I cannot access all of the space. My budget is small but there maybe more work opportunities after.

Sorry the plan I uploaded was an old one there are now byfold doors across the back so the TV is now going where the under stairs cupboard was this seemed to be the only place it could go where you can see it from the seating area the dining table and the breakfast bar but it's quite a distance from the seating area what's your views on this ?

It should be enough clearance to sit at a desk, but you won't be able to stand up, and it will be claustrophobic if not open to a larger, taller space. If the ceiling slopes, you could go as low as 1.3m at the back of the desk, but you'd need full standing height (say 1.9m) at the front edge of the desk, to get in and out.

We had the same issue and we got a carpenter in to build us three drawers and a coat closet. We installed a rail so we can hang our coats and the three drawers strores our shoes. This means that everything is organisesd and we dont have any shoe or coat clutter in the entryway.

@mckenna_deirdre Below the spirits shelf are 2 shelves for the kitchen pantry - extra spices, etc. I am planning on having these covered possibly by a nice fabric that can be draped down and to the front so none of the pantry stock is visible when I'm using the bar - it should also add an element of colour and soft furnishing for the bar. Yes, this is the full depth of stairs. You're right, I don't want a shelf that is too deep as it would be tedious having to get something from the back, plus it would start feeling cluttered. I am definitely decorating the space to feel a bit lush and luxurious. I'm planning to use some sticky back wallpaper - it is available in some really gorgeous colours and patterns.
