Hello . please tell me what's the normal height of a study desk for a university student ???

ma height is 5 feet n 10 inches .

now plz tell me about which and how much height of a study table I buy .

kindly give me a suggestion .

Hi, A desk/study table should be between 70-79cm high. Best wishes

Hi, lots of good ideas already submitted. A loft or cabin bed will help make good use of smaller spaces, or an Ikea Hemnes daybed will extend out for sleepovers and has lots of storage space too. With a small space, I'd definitely go for white furniture and keep the style quite simple. Fitted furniture also worth considering if budget allows. If you are looking to "future proof" the room for when your daughter is older, consider a study bed such as those from www.studybed.co.uk - not cheap, but great use of limited space and will last well into teen years. Wrt walls - I'd keep it really simple as others suggest with offwhite or light grey walls and then add colour with soft furnishings. Of you want to add some girly interest to walls without breaking the bank, try the idea below - a couple of inexpensive stencils (butterflies here) and some tester pots of paint in nice contrasting colours.

I think you should clear everything out of the room, (a boring chore, I know) and have a look at the room when it's empty. 1. It's nice to have a view of something when working at a desk, so long as it's not too distracting. 2. If the room needs to be multi-useful then consider all tasks that needs to be achieved in it, work, guest room, study, etc. 3a. Measure the room and make a very simple drawing of it to a scale, measure whatever items have to fit in to it and to the same scale, cut them out of paper and place on the drawing to give an idea of how much space you have. 3b. Draw anything that doesn't actually exist , but you might like i.e. the curved desk mentioned by other post. 4. Consider built or bought storage. 5. Put the items that have to go back, back. 6. Photograph the room from lots of angles and have a look at them (away from the actual room) and consider what you like and don't like about it. 7. Think about different times of day and colour, lighting etc 8. Continue to take photos and review as before, or look at the room from a small piece of mirror -A4 size roughly-Old Art school trick- seeing it in the mirror or a photo make one 'see' it differently. 9. Continue to review and photograph, bearing in mind that some people like clear desks, empty rooms, others, piles of familiar objects -satisfy yourself! But storage and a filing system makes life easier. 10.You should have a perfect room to enjoy.

I'd put the sofabed in the bottom right hand corner, with TV on the wall opposite. So sofa and TV are on opposite sides of the window. Then desk can tuck in to the space left over on the right hand wall. There will be a few years when your child is small when there will be child clobber all over your open plan room (before they are old enough to use a playroom) and you won't always have the energy to tidy it up. At those times I think you will value a separate tv snug to escape to - so it's important to have a sofa and TV in there.. Should be room for a desk as well. The desk can't be huge but it doesn't need to be. Coat storage is a good idea, maximise storage here eg coat hooks but also shelves above with boxes for gloves and hats and shelves below for shoes.

Hi there, It is wonderful to have a blank canvas where you can let your creativity flow. I would get your daughter to draw her ideal room and then chat through it with her pinning down the feel she wants for her room and the bigger themes rather than "purple and lime green" for instance. once you've chatted you can find options that you can live with too, that are practical and where only small accessories will have to be changed as her tastes change. As it sounds like you have the space I'd go for a statement bed - a wooden house bed or something with a canopy or paint the wall and ceiling in a stripe in line with where the bed is going to be to make a statement and help to define the space. Remember to think about zoning - play area, study/art area, reading corner, sleeping, music practice, clothes storage, book storage and toy storage. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
