Hi,
I have spent most of the day looking through advice and really need some myself!
I am currently looking to get a new kitchen however I am finding this difficult as I am not really happy with the current layout of my flat. The kitchen partially opens into the living room. I have never been happy with layout or kitchen and having been here 8 years its time for a remodel.
I am unsure whether to close the kitchen off completely and build a new entrance door from hallway. This would give me a useable wall back (where my corner sofa would fit really well). Plus would have less noise from appliances.Alternatively I am considering removing an entire corner of wall, sacrificing approx 2m of "dead" hallway space and opening up for a full open plan with a nice contemporary kitchen.
If I go for the more drastic option of full open plan I will need a surveyor / building control etc as well as leaseholder permission as I live in a fairly new build flat (top floor - mortgaged). Therefore I value your opinion on which option you feel will give me a better living space so I can move forward appropriately as currently going round in circles!
PS - other 2 rooms in plan are bedrooms and the empty box behind the kitchen is bathroom. happy with all these areas and not moving any of these structures.
Thanks
