Painting newly made fitted wardrobes!
Comments (10)Primer, then Undercoat, then top coat. A primer ( prime as in first ), seals the surface to be painted. An undercoat adheres to the primer and provides a good base for a topcoat to adhere to. Depending on the end finish that you are looking for I would suggest using entirely water based products, If you want a durable, wipeable surface then go for a Satinwood. I usually use nothing but Dulux Diamond Trade Professional, you can have this mixed in any shade you like. I would also suggest that you use 'mini-gloss' rollers for the application as it gives a wonderful even finish on MDF. - Here's a link to paint useages explained. Comments (6)Hi Lauren, we're too far away to be of too much help, but the product range we offer most office is theCrown Living / Lifespace range. They have a huge range of door colours/styles (Over 120 at last count!) in matts, gloss, sparkes, painted woods/woodgrains, metalics etc. and a very flexible system. We recently came up against Sharps, and our quote for a similar configuration/style was around half the price of Sharps. If you pick carefully your styles and mix of units, it can be very good value. You could find your local dealer at this link. Alternatively if you struggle to track down a dealer, we could quote for supply only and have delivered direct to you if you have your own fitter lined up, though obviously we are too far away to offer our usual levels of service....See MoreHow to Refurbish a Fitted Wardrobe in Living Room?
Comments (21)@E D :D The layout of the kitchen is strange as the window is in a corner which means there is almost no natural light in the rest of the space. We are also only two people and don't need two bedrooms, so we figured this made more sense for us....See MoreFitted wardrobes in new house how do I modernise?
Comments (4)It’s a dilemma, isn’t it, when something is too good to rip out but really not your style? If you can’t keep the wardrobes in the single room, could you use those spare units to fill in the bit in the main bedroom where overhead lockers and dressing table bit are? So you end up with one interrupted row of useful wardrobes. I think the layout is what looks so dated. You’d have to move your bed to the other side of the room of course (and maybe remove some of the other units to make space) but you’d not then be sleeping with an oppressive row of cabinets over your head. I would want to paint those doors or cover them with fabric, but there are loads of people with experience about that who will be along to help no doubt....See Morerach1922
