Hey any ideas of what I can do with this area next to my entrance and fireplace??I'm stuck! I also wanted to incorporate a small desk w my printer.any ideas?thank you

I think if you are going to use that room for a desk you should make it cozy more like a nice lounge office ,add a warmer darker paint to the walls and a nice rug, a large oversized map would look neat hanging on the wall there with a picture light over it, a desk in the center of the floor with a nice desk chair and two nice armchairs across from it would give you a nice look but still be functional

Hi. The main problem with the hall is the flooring - which I guess you know from your comments on it. It's sucking the life out of it and making it appear smaller. Regarding storage I would go for a large wardrobe style piece in the corner where the unit it. Height for coats and low shelves for shoes. Beside it keep the plant. You may not notice it but the middle of the space isn't actually used that much so I would lose the bits and pieces around the edge of the room and go for a round table in the centre of the space with a stunning light above (in your homes style). This (once the floor is done) will look stunning, inviting and grand. On here is where I would put my key trey! :)

Hi Clare D, lovely high ceilings! Your hallway could definitely take larger pendants to create interest along with a colour. Do you have any particular colours you are drawn to such as greens, blues etc? If you do decide to paint we recommend painting the radiators the same colour as the walls to help these blend in. A mirror above a console table or sideboard would work well to help bounce the light around too. Guys, I need more advice! 😕 I had planned on using wall panelling on the right hand side of my stairs, but I have pulled off a piece of wood that ran the length of the stairs and it's a bit of a mess underneath. I'm now thinking the normal batten style panelling is out of the question as I'm not going to get a straight wall once I've tarted up what's underneath where the wood was. Anybody got any ideas on how I can design this part of the stairs now? I believe the wood was placed there to cover where a previous handrail had been. It's quite low down tho, so must have been placed there by a fairly small person! I like the idea of tongue and groove panelling to basically cover the detritus that's been left, but I've no idea how to work out the angle to cut it to the correct size all the way up the stairs. So thinking of maybe just replacing the wood that was there with a fresh piece, maybe with a dado on top. Oh I don't know, help! Plans have been kiboshed! 🙈
