Door colour and door frame

Our house is under renovation, we now have graphite grey windows.
The porch above the door is having a white render ( not a brilliant white ) Also the full front of the house is going to be rendered.
We decided on a black door, is a white door frame going to look odd ?

I think a white door frame would look odd yes. It would stand out like a sore thumb! Why not try matching the door and the door frame to the windows then it would blend in.

My personal opinion, and what I've done in my home, is to use the same white for all the trim. The exception might be in a kitchen, living and dining room that has a more traditional feel and is already stained. If you are going with white ceilings, then in my opinion it looks best if they are uniform to start with. You can change that out room by room later if you want.

Nice colour. What is it? Thinking of using similar in my lounge. Here’s a few inspo pics for painted fire surround (click to enlarge). I’ve included a couple of fire places where they are all one colour which I quite like the look of so for me I’m going to stick with my gut instinct and say the same colour as the skirting. But don’t take my word for it, the choice is absolutely yours! I always find holding a F&B colour chart against all the surrounding objects and in different lights helps me make a decision. I agree. We are renovating a property at the moment & have ordered the same colour windows as you. Our door & frame is also grey. Drive around & look at other people's windows & doors. That's what I did. There were lots of composite doors with white frames. Personally I really don't like it but that just a personal preferance :-)

Go for Bespoke and match it to your window frames, white will spoil the look. It will look great when complete :)

A white door frame could possibly look out of place or it could create a focal point which draws the eye, something a front door should do. We often have customers who use one of our external doors as a standout feature even though it contrasts against the rest of the house.

I think that a grey or a greeny grey door would look great but not white. I would also render in a softer colour than white. But I am not a professional it's just my opinion. Hope it turns out as you want .
