Advice or experience on painting upvc windows
Comments (4)I would recommend painting it every few years but that's only personal preference. As long as the surfaces are cleaned and then painted with the zinnser sufficiently and then I would say 2 oil based top coats (undercoat and gloss is ideal) then I can't see you having any problems...See MoreNeed help with exterior of house...upvc windows
Comments (11)If anyone happens to read this thread, I have actually started to repaint the Mole's Breath with Downpipe, which I much prefer. The Moles Breath, in certain light, took on a brownish hue which I didn't like. It hasn't weathered that well, but this side of the house is quite exposed to the elements so we knew we would need to re do on a regular basis. Downpipe is more of a definite grey I think. Still unsure of what to do with the windows, if any designers out there would like to suggest a frame colour that would go well with F & B Downpipe? Husband painted one of the frames early summer with Zinsser primer and two topcoats, just white for now, and so far it is weathering well. We also need to change the exterior lights if anyone has any good suggestions? The door will be replaced too. Just haven't got around to it yet! I'm comfortable with interior design but the exterior is bugging me and our budget is limited for now....See MoreHelp needed with ugly UPVC front porch!
Comments (12)Depending on budget, I would replace the sliding doors with the original front door and window you could then brick up the window space giving you more storage space internally, then just add a different front door in its place. where the side window is going back towards the bay I would brick up to underside of existing window sill height and keep the window above so you don't loose to much light in the bay window. Seeing the original front door would be so much better than the sliding doors ....See MorePebbledash and upvc window painting
Comments (15)You have a substantial period property 1920s? which looks of its time. I would be very reluctant to try and modernise its appearance. How will it look in a few years time? Think 1930s houses with updated 60s fireplaces and 1980s houses with mock Victorian fire surrounds....See MoreFfion Francis
