Comments (16)Hello Ffion, Please don't replace with White UPVC they are absolutely horrible. You are very lucky they are as nice as they are. So my suggestion is to paint with a primer like zinsser or another brand that will adhere to plastic and then paint a colour like charcoal, not too black.. If you were considering to replace the windows then definitely don't go down the upvc route. They devalue properties... but the good thing is that yours are nicer than most! I don't even mind the window panes too much as I think you will make gr8 strides just by painting the brown plastic.. Of course... this applies to the front door too... as you can do the same... Think a charcoal here too would be lovely... 2 nice square slate looking planters with something lovely either side of the door would be rather nice too.. Will you keep the little "porch" ? Could be nice without it... I like the brick too and would leave that alone.. :))...See MoreWould like window shutters but what would go with brown upvc windows?
Comments (9)I think you'll have to go with white or whatever looks best indoors in those rooms. You can always think about getting the windows colour bonded at some point instead of replacing them. Then you can choose any colour for those inside and out! You can paint UPVC yourself - All of our windows inside are painted the same colour as the walls in those rooms so that the windows blend into the walls. They were dark brown / mahogany ( vile ) - Outside they are all sage green. If you're going to paint the frames inside which will brighten the rooms and let you have whatever colour shutters you like, use Zinsser 1-2-3 primer and then paint away....See MorePainting uPVC windowd
Comments (19)I'm pretty sure ours were Ral 1000 Green / Beige. We've got some left in the garage, i'll try and remember to dig it out. However, no two would be the same unless the same paint was used on the same surface and put on in the same manner. Ours were sprayed with cellulose paint. I don't know how many coats, but quite a few. The windows were a dark brown UPVC. I agree that yours look a little more yellowy than ours though. However, they should resemble the sample that you were given, so that's more important. They do look nice....See MoreLyn S
