Repairing lined walls

Hi. We've had a new (smaller) radiator fitted in our son's bedroom. What is the best way to repair the lining paper? The other side we could possibly cut & fit a small piece of lining paper, fill the gap, sand & paint but this side is more problematic. Would you strip the whole piece off the wall (it only goes up to the window) & apply a fresh piece? I'm thinking this may be the best way to do it for both sides. What do you think?
