How can I make my boring flat pack furniture look stylish.?
Comments (14)I love the colour of the furniture, but I would definitely find some new handles for them. Maybe something in lilac? Like a cut glass, or something ceramic and pretty. Look at Laura Ashley for inspiration but you can find cheaper versions, and usually just as well made, elsewhere. Match the wardrobe to the chest of drawers more and make them look even more refined. Also maybe put something above the wardrobe, like a trunk or something fitting to the room, to fill the space. If you go with orange then the print you have bought could go in with the scheme. For wallpapers have a look at Romo or Harlequin they have some lovely designs. I will play around with the lights as suggested .. when the kitchen was delivered on Friday it was a very bright day and the units were in the south facing part of the room and looked fine .. the units furthest away from the lights seem to look the most lilac .. also the floor is still just the screed which is a light pink so not sure if this is also having an impact on the overall colour?...See More

8 years agoSince you are still working on this project, it is difficult to say that this kitchen is boring. One that that stands out right away, that has not been mentioned yet, is the pendant light that you have in the first shot, which seems dwarfed compared to the space that you have available on the ceiling. Possibly think of adding a larger chandelier in place of the pendant light. Some ideas posted below.
As far as a back splash goes, keep it linear and go straight across the back wall with it. Here are some great back splash tile options.

8 years agoAgree with Robb regarding the lighting. You need some drama and with those great high ceilings it'll look great. Don't agree with Rob on his backsplash choices as I think they're predictable. Sorry Rob. Miacometlady has some good choices. I have added a few more. The 3rd pic over I particularly like as it is light, brings in the grey and the wood tones.

8 years agoHerringbone cararra marble backsplash. Not sure why the hood isn't grey..........the contrasting wood finish doesn't seem to fit.
