Obscure glass - planning condition

We had obscure glass specified when we went to appeal over a balcony glass which the planners had specified to be opaque. The appeal was quite rude about the planners request for opaque glass saying it was quite unnecessary and would look odd to us and from the road below at the bottom of the garden. We agree. We have just built an ultra modern house. We had sandblasted glass for the toilet window beside the front door and it suits the house. However for the balcony which has large evergreen plants behind (we can't see into next door at all) the sandblasted glass would have looked very unnatural and whitish. Instead we chose Stippolyte which is gently bumpy and doesn't change the colour of the leaves - just blurs them. I was rather concerned that the appeal didn't specify how obscure it needed to be, and then I realised the even with the gentlest obscurity it is impossible to see anything 20ft away - and it is at least that to our fence. We couldn't get 10mm thick stippolyte which we needed for strength, so the glass company laminated it with plain glass which gave the required thickness and strength. Although I would have preferred plain glass, this is a very good option and I haven't found anything which would have worked better. I would certainly check about plain coloured glass - I wouldn't be surprised if that wasn't acceptable.

I'm currently building solar screens (Phifer Suntex 80) for my windows, and I can't decide on whether to add the cross-braces. They're not going to be opened regularly, except for cleaning, so the cross-braces are going to be decorative more than structural. This is how it looks with the bare windows now:I'm not particularly fond of these windows, but can't justify replacing them just yet. My biggest issue is the un-even pane sizes. Originally, the smaller window was just a single pane, and the larger one was two panes. But everything looked consistent. Like this one (I believe that the stone/rendered finish above and below the windows was originally white timber): Option 1: I could make the screens match the existing window layout. This is just a crude mockup. In bright sunlight, the screens look pretty much like this. In other light, they appear semi-translucent, so you can see blinds/curtains behind them. Option 2: Add a vertical brace on the picture window, to make all panes appear equal sized. Option 3: Add horizontal braces on all of the smaller windows, leaving the picture window bare: Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I’m not sure of the depth up to the radiator but a sofa like this on legs won’t dominate. If you can find one in a similar tone or colour to the wall then it won’t stand out at all (if that‘s what you prefer). i’m not suggesting this one per se but maybe also a beanbag of sorts where the art is on the floor in the pic?

I would look into solar window film, either anti-glare or anti anti-fade. https://www.purlfrost.com/window-film/solar-window-film/ i think the curtain pole is too short and low. I I’ve attached a guide but at minimum it should be 15cm either side depending on width of window.
