Cream Crushed Velvet Bed

So I have just bought this bed and looking for inspiration as to how to decorate the bedroom around it. Would you opt for wood floor as opposed to carpet? What kind of bedding would you go for? Please ignore the bedding in the picture. This was from the old bed! Thank you

Pretty !!! I think i'd put a wooden floor with that. If you're luck enough to have floorboards, then why not finish them with Fiddes Hard Wax Oil in Dark Oak. I've attached a picture of a floor that we did a couple of weeks ago. You could then combine it with Champagne coloured rugs to match the headboard. So many other colours will go with that, Raspberry, Purples, Oranges, Turquoise, Greens........you could put any accent colour by way of bedding with it. You could go with the colour on the covers - duvet etc, or just pillows with plain bedding and maybe lamps to match. Sometimes less is more if you know what i mean! I like to use mix and match textures, so as you already have velvet, why not have a wool blanket across the bottom of the bed. The wool isn't shiny so works well to not go into competition with the sheen from the velvet.

Floor looks amazing. Thank you for all your comments unfortunately I'm unable to do that with my floor boards however I am moving house so maybe in the new one!

yes was going to do myself but to be honest by the looks of the cost of the material and the fact that this is just a spare bedroom bed Im probably going to spend the money on a new velvet sleigh bed for the master bedroom instead now and keep this real suede bed intact it was more the colour Id like to change but think will keep that room cream and bed go perfect with wardrobe and colour scheme etc going to have a play with updating some cheap little coffee tables instead lol hobby I had in my twenties and twenty years later want to get back to it again - just had bigger house then so more scope to change things but sure I can have a good play anyway and make something a little unique - do love this site though gets you having large dreams

Thank you for your reply. I really like the image you have attached, and maybe layering grey is a solution; however, I've found finding tonally similar grey soft furnishings, etc particularly difficult, hence wanting to add more colour to the mix. I've attached an image of the inside ofThe built in cupboard. The larger middle section has a hanging rail. I prefer to use this space for extra's (duvets/pillows/etc). I would like a wardrobe in this room. Because of the requirements, I'm abit stuck on the layout of the room.

Hopefully not long! But personally I don't like it. When I was first decorating a house 10 years ago velvet was nowhere in sight. Now crushed velvet is available for couches, cushions, curtains, headboards, dining chairs.... I'm hesitant to buy anything crushed velvet because in a few years it will need replacing or look dated.
