Comments (10)Hi. Have you ever considered a real interesting eye catching piece of art work to really brighten up your living area I think a select piece of art would really make the room stand out, add interest and add a great talking point to the room.... Please check out my website if like the idea and please get in contact, commission work is also welcomed so if you like a particular style I can do in a select colour palette and size but with this it can only be done as a original piece and not a print.....but all prints i can do to the same size or smaller than my original paintings, so lots of options.. www.guigsart.co.uk...See MoreDoes this mirror look ridiculous?!
Comments (10)Hello Lydia, It's a shame the mirror is touching the cornice but it's not terrible... I think the points about all the photo frames is a good one.. It's not giving you the focal point that the fireplace is supposed to... I would suggest the following.. Take the shelving out and paint a darker colour in the alcoves... Then situate the tv either in one of them so it blends or... situate somewhere else. The eyes are going directly to the tv which is not really what you want to be focusing on.. I think this could be rather nice and then the fireplace will take centre stage.. One last thing.. what about piling the logs inside the recess, it gives the space a bit more and you can paint the inside a darker colour which would again give a more prominent feel for the log burner.. : ))...See MoreMirror solution for low picture rail over mantlepiece?
Comments (4)I would suggest that if anybody goes for the 'leaning' style of mirror, that they put something on the mantle that is permanently fixed to stop the bottom from accidentally sliding forward. One of the worst accidents I had years ago, was on a mirror that was leaning on a shelf. It, for whatever best reason known to itself started to slip as i was standing in front of it. I pushed it away from myself and my daughter standing behind me, only 3 at the time. The frame broke and my thumb ran straight down the side of the mirror cutting it to the bone and severing the tendon! Make sure all mirrors are safely attached to a wall somewhere!!...See Moremirrored split shaker wardrobe doors Vs Full mirrored....
Comments (1)Personally I’m not keen on mirrored wardrobe doors. I have shaker style wardrobes in a soft taupe and a separate mirror on the wall nearby....See MoreShelley Maniovich
