Painting interior doors

The whole house is beautiful, I have in fact been redecorating my Victorian flat using similar trends though on a much smaller scale. I do have one question. I have painted my entrance hall, in the same style as the living area shown in the news letter, i.e. The walls, skirting boards, door frames, and internal doors all the same colour, of course using emulsion for the walls and eggshell for the woodwork. My question is I presume the blue painted door in the photo is painted a different colour on the other side - what is the best way to do this? Or is the door painted blue on both sides?

Hi Stuart, I too am painting my doors and architraves the same colour as the walls. I have different colours in each bedroom and the landing as grey. so the doors will be grey from the landing view and a colour from bedroom. The decorators have suggested that the hinge side door reveal to be painted the same colour as the landing colour i.e grey and the other side door reveal with the door latch to be painted to match the bedroom. hope that makes sense.

Well 6 years have flown by and I still have a door dilemma! We have decorated the hall/stairs/landing and replaced the cloakroom and WC door with oak ledge and brace doors to match upstairs as advised on here. We still detest the white Georgian looking doors which don't match anything else in the house but don't want a solid ledge and brace as it would make an already dark hallway even darker. Could anyone suggest an oak glazed style door and handle that would tie in with the ledge and brace please? Thanking you all in advance.

I have very similar doors in my 1934 house. Upstairs they are all painted white, but downstairs I had the sitting room one dipped, then varnished it. By the way, the colour was much the same before varnishing. I keep dithering whether to paint my sitting room one or not, so it remains au natural for now. Decisions, decisions!
