Master bedroom headboard

I would love to have a massive head board? Can I still
have one? What are the rules to having big headboards?

In the floor plan layout in bedroom 1, can I have a large
headboard even though there is a small window on that wall? Does the board have
to be the same height as the window? I was planning on having roman blinds for
that window. Is that a good idea? Should I conceal the window or make it stand
out? Should I just have an average size headboard and use wallpaper on the
wall?

Do large headboards make the room look small? Is it
better to have a bold or neutral colour headboard?

what are my other options?

Also where can I buy them? Is it more cost effective to
make one?

I think if you look online you will see tall headboards that are more cost effective than making your own.
Tall headboards give a modern look do perhaps you should put a roman blind at the small window.
Something should also be the same height as the window- this doesn't have to be the headboard- it could be a picture.
If you are just going to paper one wall I say do the wall opposite the bed as the bed wall has plenty going on and when you sit in bed you will want something to look at.

For me it totally depends on the style of room. I currently have a plain chic leather one which works well in my room as its not vast. But when a room is very large, then a headboard can be an incredible feature. The great thing about headboards is that they can add such depth to a space, either by way of colour, texture or intricate detailing they are also great alternatives to Mirrors and art if you want the bed to take centre stage.

Hi, I would love to see the end result if you do have any pictures.. My room has no real wall to put bed against.. one alcove is 100cm.. the other 120cm however it slopes where roof is, the goes into a large L or maybe even a L and another backwards L.. Did you just get the bedroom chimney breast taken out and/pr downstairs too?
