Skirting & architrave colour
Comments (1)Hi there! Congradulation on finished job! Sounds like you have a very good looking kitchen. How about to pain them in same the same colour as the walls or grey similar to floor tiles?...See MoreArchitraves - should they compliment your door or skirting boards
Comments (7)i think the one on the left also, the other one is a little too chunky compared to the skirting. Just to add to the mix, you don't have to stick to the skirting they sell in wickes, b&q etc. We have an old house and we went for plain solid board - you can see one next to the dog on the right in the pic below. The plain boards would look great with your doors, you can also have just plain timber ( squared edged ) for the architraves. I think they look like an older design, today's fancier stuff wasn't around in the days that our house was built, 1850, so we thought why not....See More70's plastic architrave, skirting and windowsills???
Comments (1)You have plastic skirt and arch in caravans. Perhaps they used this originally to save painting as it's supplied in a finished state (unless you don't want white). I'd replace it using either timber of MDF. Removing a window sill shouldn't create much mess. Perhaps some adjoining plaster will come off with it but that can be patched up....See MoreCeiling, skirting and architrave the same colour as walls or white?
Comments (7)If you have beautiful period detailing, lovely coving etc then you can draw attention to them by using a contrast. If they are pale and the walls are dark (and vice versa) the contrast will be very strong. However, if the coving and skirting is nothing special then drawing attention to them might be the wrong thing to do. There's no right or wrong answer. With Farrow and Ball colours, then there are lots of options to pick out s slightly darker or slightly lighter version of the same hue. Does this make sense?...See MoreLongden Doors Ltd
