Need help with my living room setting
Comments (7)You need some pictures on the walls, and how about a tall vase or basket / woven type vase with tall dried flowers - seed pods - leaves next to your TV to hide the wall socket and the cables? Brown and green colouring with a woven vase would work well and be in your colour scheme. Think about a large basket on the opposite side of the TV for magazines etc or, a more flat open type basket with some leaves conkers small logs or stones in it - pot-pourri, could do both - magazine basket with open basket just in front to the side. A light coloured throw of colours that match your unit on the couch, with some extra cushions. A pouffe in front of your window, or small tub type or woven chair with a small table beside it, a plant would look good also. You have a lovely looking room that just needs a bit of character added, something that will reflect your personality. Best wishes with it, am sure once you start adding a little something the rest will follow....See MoreNeed help for my small living/dining room with awkward layout
Comments (10)Hi. It's hard to tell if this will work as I can't tell the door width but what if you were to build a ŵall to wall bookcase on the desk ŵall incorporating both the tv and radiator? Ignore the design of this one, was just showing a pic of one against a window, You may need to widen the pillar by the dining room entrance slightly. Perhaps ammonite by F&B for the ŵalls with a floor that picks up one of the tones in the table. I'd also paint the coving in the ammonite and a darker shade of grey for the bookcase. Have a 6ft sofa (allowing for side table and lamp) opposite the bookcase (not against the ŵall) with a chair angled in front of the bookcase and perhaps go for an upholstered stool on legs as per your inspiration pic. You could use Romans on the windows, maybe in a vertical stripe and then use geo patterns for the cushions. Re lights I'd add ŵall lights to the bookcase and a flush for the living room, preferably just 7 inches high. You can afford to hang something lower over the dining table. Are you keeping the tall cabinet? I think your current table will look lovely with some upholstered chairs...See MoreNeed help with my country living room.
Comments (5)Hi, my wife used all of those colours last year to re-vamp our cottage lounge. She too loves Abraham Moon and had our curtains made out of the Pistachio wool. She also made all the cushion covers, and collected a load of samples including the 'spot' fabric, then sewed them all together to re-cover the foot stool. We love the colours that you have picked, as they're the same as ours.! One thing i've noticed is that in your lounge the focal point is the T.V. Being so large, and right next to the other focal point, which in my opinion should be the Fireplace, is that it dwarfs it. The fireplace is very large, and the fire is quite small. If you build up the fireplace from the bottom using the same brick and make the opening smaller, reduce the size of the pipe and move the fire up, it will help to balance the space. You could then paint behind the fire, colour matching one of your favourite Moon fabrics, ( i chose pistachio in the example ), This will then darken the background a little and make the fire stand out further. The other thing is that you have lots of different styles of furniture and different wood tones. Maybe darken the Mantel to match the T.V Unit, this will help things start to blend. You could also stain the coffee table to match. The sofa needs to get warmed up, so Tartain and Plaid Moon cushions, with a few plain Pistachio to match the Fireplace and Plain Pistachio Curtains. Take out all of the silver metal it makes the room colder. Add back in wooden photo frames, wooden lamp stands and warm lampshades to co-ordinate. Last but not least, break up the area with a nice plush rug! Sorry about my rubbish 'photo shopping', - Bottom pic, but hopefully you'll get the idea....See Moreneed to decorate my living room corner
Comments (5)Hi Tanjina, Have you considered to dedicate that corner to a bigger bonsai tree? Regards the mirrors, I think the first option would be great, I think we can safely hang it just behind the TV. We may print any kind of the mirror with the Disney/Pixar etc. theme that your children like. Let me know if you are interested and I will schedule a call for you with our advisor....See MoreAMN
