Comments (26)Hi Outside Space - perhaps you are forgetting about the can size when you compare costs. Farrow and Ball Modern Emulsion is £43.50 for 2.5L - so £17.40 per litre. Aura is £65 per US gallon (3.87L) - so £17.10 per litre. Similarly, Estate Eggshell is £55 for 2.5L - so £22 per litre and Aura Eggshell is £70 for a US gallon - so £18.40 per litre. Our shipping charge is also comparable or lower to all other UK manufacturers including Farrow and Ball. I am not sure about the prices in Canada because the Benjamin Moore CA site does not state prices, but we benchmarked very carefully against prices in the US. A US gallon of Aura cost $69.99 ex sales tax, which when you convert to pounds, and add on EU import duty and UK VAT @ 20%, you will see is comparable to our own price. We introduced Benjamin Moore in the UK because of its exceptional quality versus the paints available on the market here. We do have lower cost lines than those I mention above (which I quoted based on that fact you mentioned F&B). Regal Select retails at £14.20 per litre and Ultra Spec at £10 per litre. Both of these line represent excellent value for money based on the quality of the paint in the can. Many of the professional painters who now use Benjamin Moore exclusively here in the UK tell us that the quality of Benjamin Moore far exceeds other UK brands based on the quality of the finish, the durability and the hide/opacity. I hope that helps to put our prices in perspective a little. Warm regards Helen...See Moreunder deck drainage
Comments (3)thanks. yes, this is the sort of thing I was thinking. I guess as the corrugated sheeting had been above the beams, but below the decking I was assuming we'd need to do the same and couldn't quite figure out how we'd do this from underneath....I'd also been worried about the beams rotting but I guess as long as the wood is treated it should be ok......See MoreDeck tiles - any good?
Comments (0)I'm considering putting down composite or hardwood deck tiles to cover an ugly concrete path and patio until I can afford to have the concrete removed and the area landscaped. Can anyone recommend any brands available in the UK, please? Ideally they'd need to interlock on slightly uneven concrete. Any other ideas to hiding/ camouflaging the path would be great! thanks...See MoreDark coloured bark/mulch in the uk and garden ideas
Comments (7)I don’t know about dark bark. If I were you, I’d considered planting some taller plants suitable for the particular soil and intensity of sun. Decking could be improved by painting with https://www.wood-finishes-direct.com/product/ronseal-decking-rescue-paint. Our decking was in a sorry state when we bought our house 6 years ago. After experimenting with a few types of treatments, I chose Ronseal product above. It still works for my decking to the extent that I hope to get two more years out of it before finally replacing it. Good luck with your project!...See MoreChris Chapman Bespoke Kitchens & Furniture
