bigger bathroom

We plan to knock through what used to be an external wall but is now a normal wall, to make our bathroom in Chesterfield larger. We have been told we might need a support so possibly an archway or something similar between the wgere the wall used to be. We want new tiling, new plumbing, a nice walk in shower, and a full new suite. Having no idea where to start, I'd like to get one person or company to take on the job and do everything, I just want it all to be sorted and not have to rely upon lots of different trades or people etc. Where should I start!? The picture attached is what it looks like now. Also need to consider how the shower will be set up as currently it's an old electric one that I hate! Any words of advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Chris

To add to the above I'd like the work doing quickly if possible, and if anyone had a rough idea of costs or a guess at costs I'd be grateful too.

They provide a complete in-house design, supply and installation service. Includes all plumbing, tiling, electrical, joinery etc. They usually turn and transform bathrooms in five working days or less. Give them a call or email and I'm sure they will be happy to help!

Hi, I suggest you Move your bath to sit under the window. Mayb free standing bath? Then move toilet and sink (counter top basin and get unit made with storage) to far wall (where bath was), get separate shower tray - can get very thin shower trays now to create minimal look. I think you should plan for the ideal layout for you and then do the work in stages as your budget allows. If it were me I would want to increase the upstairs space to add value. I offer only what would work for me- but if I had this end plan I would start by putting in the downstairs wc and drains in this part of the house. I would next fit a new kitchen. My next job would be the upstairs extension. I would finish with an extension to the side of the kitchen to give more room for a utility room and dining table. All of this assumes it is cost effective to do it in stages (if you don’t have easy assess to the rear for builders it may not suit you to build twice). It assumes this is possible, meets planning and it assumes when you research your local housing market you get a return on your investment.) What ever you decide best of luck.

Option 1: Creating a large bedroom with ensuite at the back of the house (with walk-in-closet). Main living room turns into the new kitchen with dining area. In the corner behind the new kitchen installing the utility with entry from the hallway. In front of the main entrance will be the seating area (room dividers between areas to let in daylight). Bedroom 1 altered into the new bathroom. Moving the walls between bedroom 2 and 3 and making rooms slightly bigger than before. Option 2: Creating a large bedroom with ensuite at the back of the house (with walk-in-closet). Turning 2nd living room into the new kitchen with small island in the middle; a new hallway towards the large bedroom; and the utility. Original main living room will be used further as living room, but with new dining area. Bedroom 1 altered into the new bathroom. If you want separate toilet, reinstate the separate WC but remove the toilet from the bathroom so you can get a bigger shower in there - either over the bath so you can also get double sinks or keep bath and bigger shower and one sink, whatever you prefer - would not recommend removing bath since you are going to have little kids for years to come.
