From where do you buy your paint?
Comments (54)Mylands. You always regret your economies. I've repainted this kitchen 4X over the years, and last time was in Dulux which wore so poorly. Just custom mixed a new vibrant duck egg to paint my kitchen in marble matt walls, eggshell woodwork, and floor paint. Mylands matched impeccably. It was a dream of coverage, and looks spectacular. The quality of the pigment shows, looks the money, nothing like synthetic mediocre pigments in cheaper paint. It's a big improvement....See MoreWhat are you doing in your garden this month?
Comments (27)Weeducks, yes, Malaysia actually. I've worked in much of this region over the 28 years I've been out here. Emmerline, I am sat here at 7pm as I write this - it is 35 centigrade and extremely humid (because it has cooled down a bit since mid afternoon). I wanted some exercise yesterday and had to wait till after 9pm before it dropped below 30 centigrade - and then only just. Midnight still saw 26 and early morning isn't much better. It has become much hotter over my years here. Life in the city now is air conditioning in the house, car, shops and offices. It is like being a termite not going outside other than in a climate controlled environment like a car, taxi, bus or train. Mornings used to be cool, but no longer. It is always T-shirt and shorts weather here, only because you can't go to less than that! Gardening here is a chore. (I cut the grass yesterday morning) Go into the garden between 10am and 5pm and get burned by the sun. Before or after that time and get eaten by mosquitoes. I tend to look at the garden from inside the house....See MoreDo you keep cut flowers in your home?
Comments (33)A house without flowers, to me is just a house, not a home. A room without flowers may wear an expensive ballgown but will be bereft of the loveliest jewels to set it off. All rooms need something living. Even just a single Rose or a sprig of ivy. Fill your garden with flowers & foliage. Tipsy tulips are perhaps my favourite but then I see a bowl of garden Roses & Alchemillimollis, or a glass jar of cow parsley or a jug of white dog daisies, or.......See MoreHow often do you change your dishcloth?
Comments (30)At least daily here. I changed to washable cloths (flannels) specifically so I could do this: it's very expensive to change a store bought cloth every day. I also change the tea towel and kitchen hand towel daily. They absolutely need it as well. The tea towel gets soaked several times/day. It does depend on how large the household is and how much time is spent in the house though. If it's a single person or couple who both work outside the home, eat dinner out a lot etc, a weekly change is no big deal. I'm at home every day, with friends and family passing through all the time, so the kitchen is very heavily used....See Moreamanda_corner
