recently got my cabinet sprayed in f and b Cornforth white and island in manor house gray.i want to replace island worktop n was thinking wood.sny advice welcome

I also think wood but you have a sink - so might not be the best choice. I am just (fingers crossed) finishing a similar project. Our island ( no sink) will be manor house grey with oak worktop and the other units plain white with a Carrera quartz work tops. The walls will be painted cornforth white - so the colouring is very similar to your project.

Floor, doors, worktop, tiles, walls would be the order for me. Try to pick it all together in one go. And look at the colours in the actual space. Light affects colours. What looks grey in the showroom, might look blue in your room, for example. Floors first, because you either already have a floor or the newly bought floor needs to flow from one room to another. Another tip: make a moodboard. Either online (you can use your ideabooks here on Houzz to create a moodboard for your kitchen, with photos of kitchens, colours and other things that you like), or cut ideas from magazines and put them all together. You'll get a good idea of the look you'd like to create and it can also help you to keep focussed when making choices.

thanks ladies I'm getting rid of sink to have more space. debating on wood as I love it but think laminate might be better wearing . I love white quartz but not changing surrounding granite n thought dark n white might be too mechanical
