Need help for a splashback for my new kitchen

Can't decide what colour and style of tiles to use for a splashback for my newly installed kitchen. Right now it looks very plain and simple. Both cabinet fronts and walls are light grey. I want to add a feature using splashback. I don't like glass but only tiles. I would be grateful for any advice!

Take a look at a site called Remodelista, much loved by on trend people and architects. Trillions of ideas for tiling there and you can adapt the expensive tiles shown for ones bought in superstores.

Hi Irina! I think that sofa shape will not suit your new space very well...but slow down and dream!rome wasn't built in a day!i would work on the kitchen plan...forget about the sofa.the kitchen is permanent...the sofa or location of sofa is not!...Kitchen...function first, then form.If you are not planning on this being your forever home...then don't spent money on moving the boiler, or plumbing or electrics as much as possible (unless there are huge gains to be had in terms of function).Also I think you'll be surprised how much more room there actually is once that wall comes down.I vote to keep the breakfast bar as I think it will really define the space.

We have a new kitchen fitted in our open plan extension. It's dark wood and light grey (they call it grey, but it's more off white). The worktop (not fitted yet) is nearly white. We haven't got a splashback yet. We've bought a dining table that has a glass top and chrome legs. I'm stuck on how to furnish the other side of the open plan room. What colour should I get the media unit, dining chairs and bar stools in? Should I get a contrasting colour or try to match something already in the room? It doesn't need to all be matchy, but I don't want it to clash either.

If you have a magnet, hold it to the Le Creuset pots. If it sticks to the pot, you can use it on an induction hob. I’ve recently switched from gas to induction. Induction is much quicker and you can let the burner switch off automatically after a set time. And it’s easy to clean. So far the advantages I’ve found. Disadvantages: can’t see the flame, so have to work out what the settings do. I’m taking a long time to get used to that, but then again, I’ve only ever cooked on gas before. Sometimes the pans make an annoying high pitched tone. I had to buy new pans, but my big iron stew pot (not Le Creuset) should work on it. Haven’t used it yet, but it is magnetic. For my other pans I went to IKEA and got a great set with heavy glass lids from there. Very happy with them. Had to say goodbye to one of my big iron frying pans, because the bottom was slightly warped and then it doesn’t work well either. All in all I’m happy with the induction hob. I love the speed. But I think I still prefer gas. Anyway... we have a downdraft in an island, so gas wasn’t an option. But you could do both perhaps? Two gas burners, two induction ones for example?

Thank you so much everyone for all the comments and ideas! I am definitely swaying towards tiles now or the opaque glass in same colour as wall. Very helpful to see other ideas too with some different style Splashbacks etc. Thanks for taking time to show a design on my photo that’s really helpful. I see what you mean about the shelves needing to be quite small on right hand side of hob. I was thinking of 1 or 2 small ones on that side and longer ones on other side. But yes other option is to have something more decorative on right hand side... but we already have a big brass/black antique style clock for the opposite wall which is a dark grey (see extra pic- but clock not up yet!). Gorgeous kitchen - i think a stunning piece of panoramic glass (back panels) would add a design element that brings it all together - whether matching or contrasting in colour or design? Also splashbacks are a really practical solution! I have attached some suggestions from our range - here to help if you need any advice?

Hey, a few photos a little closer would be a great help (countertop etc). What style are you going for? Something punchy and dramatic or keeping with contemporary and subtle?
