What gauge wire and size opening did you use for this fence? Thanks!

Hi Ingerad,

That particular fence was built using 6' centers. The opening decreased as I got closer to the hillside to compensate for the slope.

The hog wire was actually galvanized horse panel. I believe it is 6 gauge. Hope that helps.

This is what the exterior looks like so far. We have been approved planning permission to extend single storey, front and side With sky lantern. we are set on a flat roof with wildflower and sedum. Considering keeping the tiles. front door will be moved forward and there will be a window on the left. Not sure what the new render should be for the extension? Brick ? Trying to keep all costs down but Still have a Clean and contemporary finish...... I realise now I should have been braver with the windows! Tut tut!!!

thanks to everyone again for all your suggestions and for the time to help me. to provide you with some feedback on your thoughtful suggestions: Totally agree the undercabinet lighting is completely the wrong shade and i ve been begging my husband to change it to warm white, he said he would but hasnt found the time yet. but it will definitely go. Regarding table and chairs. the chairs are only 6 months old and i cant bring myself to sell those / buy new ones. cant just scrap 6 new chairs. i initially chose them in black over other colours as they tie in with the units in the dining area. i chose those because they are sturdy, my 4 boys cant rock on them and will not get grime stuck in and imposs to remove after half a year due to being black and i honestly do like them. i did buy an eames chair to try out (i originally wanted them in blue) but when my toddler on cancer treatment and my other children fell off it because it wasnt stable i said no. so i think these are for staying... i really like the idea of adding a lamp to the left of the rad and some plants. need to look around. i really like the idea of making the picture wall less "bitty" by painting over the rad and skirting boards. they really dont add to anything. my question is then should i go for white walls then rather than repainting everything in different colour. I also agree that its the tiles that are bothering me more than anything else but cant replace them at the moment. also love the idea of vases and arty display items on top of the units.need a visit to TK maxx! just another point about the paint. its very wierd but it looks very different throughout the day. actually it does look intense greige in teh evenings and milky coffee in the morning! same withtiles they look much more orangey and worse in the morning! again thanking you all for keeping this discussion open and helping along!

Hi Senspasce and thank you my husband works for a large tile manufacturer and the tiles where purchased on slight seconds and a great tiler who works all over the world did the tiling beautifully. The design was copied from the company brochure so I knew it was foolproof design in its day which was over 20yrs ago so not done so bad really certainly had my moneys worth. The window is very heavily obsurced glass with leaded design so does not need blinds which cannot be fitted as casement to window is not deep enough I have had curtain treatment on expandable rod but like the light and openness. I prefer a bath we use to have shower on bracket with a shower curtain when I had new mixer and taps I did away with them to open the room up and getaway from water mold building up we use bath mat on floor when showering and not a problem with no screen a lot less cleaning too never a problem without them.

Hi Rachel, Sorry for the late reply again, full day in the garden..🤷‍♂️ gotta make the most of the weather! Thank you for this design, I really like your presentation and it does encourage me to ‘have a go’ with the art work, although I don’t think I’ll be posting any of my efforts on here! I wish I also shared your enthusiasm about growing green fingers, but I will try and I’m quite determine to give it a go. Thank you so much for all your ideas and designs over the last few days.. it is really quite humbling the help and enthusiasm from all on here, especially in these days of unprecedented and bizarre circumstances. It has also given me a boost and of course something to focus on whilst on lockdown (I’d never would have had the time/or the weather to have launched myself into this in normal times!) Hopefully I’ll be able to come back to you with some early stage pics of the garden and some design ideas that we’ve taken up.
