The minefield of choosing a white paint - HELP

My kitchen again.

White gloss doors with a dark grey worktop with upstands. Have read info that advised not to have brilliant white on the walls for a north facing kitchen. It will make it feel too cold.

I don't even know where to start in picking any other white for a north facing room. Will it look okay next to the white gloss doors? Or a pale grey/white paint? I'm going to choose a darker grey for the wall in the dining part of the kitchen.

Any advise?

Also what type of paint for kitchen walls and ceiling eg. dulux kitchen paint.

Thanks in advance.
