Need help with kitchen worktops
Comments (2)Hi Tom. There is so much to choose from: natural - including marble (needs a little more maintenance) and granite and non-natural materials, such as quartz or Corian. It is down to what kind of look you are wanting to achieve and whether you wish the floor to match the worktop or to compliment it. If you are looking for something maintenance free and with a modern look, then I guess man-made quartz is your best bet. Man-made quartz is Man-made quartz is achieved by mixing crushed quartz with poly-structural resin, and vacuum pressed. The result is a non-porous material with outstanding characteristics, which is suitable for many interior applications, including kitchen worktops. But this is only an option. I will be happy to investigate options for you. In the meantime, feel free to check the website for inspiration: www.paolointeriors.co.uk I hope this helps. Paolo...See MoreSplashback help!
Comments (53)Just to offer a different view point. Your floor tiles look amazing. Why not flow the idea through and use tiles of that ilk as your splashblack. We have just recently finished a kitchen with a similar feel and our client opted for patterned wall tiles as their splashback. The colour tones you have chosen provide a great canvas on which to complement or have fun with colour....See MoreMy new kitchen.......help please
Comments (4)Hello. Light marble look-a-like worktops are really on trend at the moment & look set to stay. I totally agree with @BagpussAntiques comments on dark glossy granite worktops however if you like them then go for it. Perhaps explore the different composite materials. Silestone & Caesarstone do some great ones which I highly recommend but if you are on a tighter budget Earthstone may be an option but tend to look more man made. Good luck! Comments (8)I agree with your friend that travertine will be a nightmare to keep clean - too many nooks and crannies for dirt to nestle into! I love porcelain tiles, they are tough and so easy to clean, quick hoover and a mop. I have them in a dark grey slate look a like In my kitchen. They come in so many forms from wood effect through to all the stone effect finishes. Worth going to a good tile store and have a good look around. Bring the door with you so you can colour match. i think any of the F&B beige neutrals will look good on the walls. I particularly Purbeck Stone and Skimming Stone. I’m not sure if grey is right with the cashmere doors, you need something warmer perhaps?...See Moremikekat91
