Need help with the furniture/arrangement of the living room!
Comments (8)Black and White never goes out of style and the light in your room is killer! If you're into something chic and interesting find the artwork first. It does not have to be expensive at all. Color and size will be the most important things to focus on. To tie the fireplace and the cabinet together, use several pieces of art, maybe a mirror, and one or two white objects hung on the wall. One piece of art (a poster, print, or photo) should be larger than the rest and hung over the FP. Then build the arrangement out to include the wall over your cabinet. Treat the cabinet like a Bar by placing a tray and drinkware on top. I think that putting furniture in a loose and casual arrangement will look awsome and allow you to move things around according to the occassion. A loveseat with a curvy back and unmatched chairs will keep it feeling open and light. An animal hide rug and one tall floor lamp swooping over from the side of the window and giving you light at the center of the room might work for you. When you have a group of people coming say for dinner, a round expandable table in the alcove can be a plus. All the best with your place, it's killer!...See MoreNeed help on how to arrange furniture in my lounge

Comments (7)Unfortunately the Estate Agents floor plan doesn't include the big bit of wall that sticks out to the left of the door as you walk in. I personally don't think there's enough room in there for even a very small table and chairs, and that it would compromise the sofa area. However, if you did want to try, then here are two layouts. Bear in mind I based this on firstly, the small square dining table from Oakland Furniture at just 90cm square. This first render is with a very small sofa, the like of which is really for two people, or two and a small child. The second is with a much nicer sofa like this one from Swoon Barlow corner sofa, but it's not really facing the T.V properly. You would all need to sit slightly sidewise, but that's acceptable if you're ok with it, I think...See MoreHow should we arrange the furniture in the living/sitting room?
