Which bedside lockers
Hi, I am trying to decide what colour/finish of bedside lockers to get to go with my wallpaper/bed. I want to go for a luxurious feel, and I am planning on going for purple/aubergine soft furnishings...
Mirrored furniture has been suggested, and I'm just afraid that this might look tacky, and I don't know what else I could go with!

7 years agoI know what you mean about mirrored furniture but it does need a bit of 'zing' in the bedroom. I've attached one with a bit of mirrored style. However, there will be more to do to get the room up to speed. Do you know if you're using table lamps.

E D: on the curtain fabric I was thinking of something like velvet or similar but as you say cotton may fold better...I am going to a fabric shop tomorrow so will have a good look at what they've got. Sarah: thanks for your suggestion, really like your choice!! But yes something with a shade may be better for our room... Ribena: drape and pool is exactly what I was thinking off thanks!!! And it had passed through my mind to have some cream wooden slated blinds also so just have the curtains for dress. Minnie: liking your suggestions...still very keen on curtains tho. As we Have space it would probably work better as you say to move the bedsides away from the bed a little. Will do some experimenting!! Also love the chair idea!! Hadn't thought of that but definitely nice to have a chair in a guest room :-) Gina: thanks v much also, liking those lights! Definately needs to be something minimal as you say... Comments (5)Looks like a good solid bed. Good idea to have the wardrobes painted, they look good apart from the colour and the handles (sorry). Could be worth changing them. Re bedside tables, I’m generally not a great fan of matching them (to the bed), but feel this is personal preference and getting mismatching right is not easy. I thińk you have a choice of what material, black, grey, wood, off white, metallic, mirror etc. a dark wood or black should give a luxurious feel but I think it needs lifting slightly with glass and metallics. Either mirrors behinds the bedstands or lamps with a sparkly glass base (you could add art behind in a metallic frame).The paper has a green undertone (on my screen!) and would go for the same colour in a lighter shade for curtains either in silk or perhaps faux silk if the room gets a lot of light. A modern or traditional chandelier tends to give a luxury feel and I also quite like the feather pendant lights that are around which are great for texture! I think the bed requires a few layers for a luxury look. Perhaps add greige (similar to carpet and paper pattern) to layer the colours and then you could add deep mauve cushions as seen in the pic. Perhaps add some good quality faux hydrangea in mauve on a surface somewhere.

7 years agoUpdate!! I decided to go with mirrored/champagne bedside tables - really happy with them.....now for the finishing touches......
I think that I will remove the lilac throw from the bed - I don't think it works. The white bedding looks really stark, so I'm not sure what I should do about this - maybe go for champagne coloured bedding instead?
Also, the lighting needs to be decided - both the main light (thinking of a chandelier), and bedside lighting - all suggestions welcome!
