Kitchen - the finishing touch
Comments (53)I think the pale grey tile is too cold. For some reason I just don't like it and think it tips the room into something not as funky looking. I'd go for a small muted (very pale greys) tile laid in a herringbone/chevron pattern, or plain white metro tiles with grey grout. I'm not a fan of grey grout and white metro tiles generally, but I think they would look absolutely great in this room!...See MoreIkea kitchen finishing touches - what worktop and splashback?
Comments (7)How about making a concrete worktop. This isn't beyond the ability of a fairly competent DIYer. There are lots of YouTube videos to help and the worktops can be practically any colour and add a personal touch. The materials are extremely cheap. We have recently made concrete tops for within our larder to see whether is really as easy as it looks, and are delighted with the results....See MoreFinishing touches to kitchen/diner rennovation
Comments (10)Hi, This looks fab! It looks like you're well on your way. Have you thought about a blind rather than curtains? As your window is above your sink, a blind such as a wipe-clean Roller, Vertical or Fauxwood blind are really smart choices. You might find fabric curtains get in the way - if you're set on a soft fabric, a made-to-measure Roman blind might fit in better. As for colours, a warm neutral would look nice, or a sage or olive green as mentioned. Here are a few pictures for some colour inspiration. Good luck with the rest of your renovations and a Happy New Year! Zoe...See MoreFinishing touches to Scandi kitchen
Comments (18)Hi we would move the fridge to the right if possible against the wall putting the hoover etc in between fridge and washing machine. Then get a blind which you could hang from the ceiling to pull down over the fronts of the washing machine, tumble dryer and cleaning items so can be kept down whilst not using. Leaving only the fridge door exposed? so looks tidy in maybe a grey could try ikea too? Maybe paint all walls a very pale grey ammonite colour from Farrow and Ball. Keep accessories to a minimum display chopping boards with marble i.e. anthropology and white storage containers. Some succulent plants on your kitchen window sill very on trend. I would put a simple white radiator cover from B & Q over radiator use for putting picture frames on. Your lovely barcelona chair and matching stool calling out for a grey sheep skin throw. Good luck love to see it when its done....See MoreJoanna C
