Hi Michael, Sorry, but I have to partially disagree with you on this, daylight colour temperature is 6500K not 4000K. Yes, 4000K is warmer than 6500K but it does not give a truer representation of colour. Colour representation is measured using the colour rendering index or CRI. The closer to 100, the closer to daylight. The Megaman LEDs are 80 CRI for each of the colour temperatures. That said, the 4000K fitting will produce a brighter and cleaner feel to the room. However, it can look too harsh at night. 2700K is closer to traditional halogen fittings. It can look duller during the day, but looks a lot more welcoming in the evening - perfect for a soak in the bath. It comes down to personal preference in the end

Hello Ruth, Well let's just say that Brexit budget is something I'm rather good at. Well I spent £1.5K on my bathroom (not including fitting, which I wasn't happy with.. The chap in question was terrible! Had been fitting bathrooms for 15 years he said! Never seen such terrible work. I had to coach him and re- do a lot myself... This is not the first time I have come across a tradesman that works to average and bad, rather than brilliant... Back to design, I think you need to make this dramatic, a bold statement, not that it isn't but it's not quite right.. I would suggest a new pink loo seat and to paint the bath panels in the same pink for something very easy and inexpensive. This way it blends with the scheme. If you like the tiles you can do several things.. change the white for something either the same or slightly darker to really make the pink theme stand out.. Or replace them with the same colour.. This could be difficult unless there is a box of spares somewhere, you then remove the stripe altogether.. Or another idea replace the tiles altogether for something else entirely in the same colour...... I like gold/brass and it's still very much in, but for me and the candy pink, I'd have said nickel taps would be fantastic here... along with some stylish accessories.. For flooring something again that blends with the scheme so pink again.. Tiles or perhaps lino would be a good idea.. Here a few more sedate ideas than your bathroom but the focus here is perhaps what you could add with interesting decorative pieces... If your budget could stretch to it.. consider a different shower.. Rectangular or square would instantly modernise to a more pleasing aesthetic which would better sit with a newer scheme.. I also wonder what the rest of the house looks like.. there may be more exciting rooms ahead which you can update to your liking.. : )) Not all pink suites but some ideas you could incorporate into your scheme.. The biggest problem with this question is that it's all so deeply subjective. That said, I used to live in an ex-council maisonette in London, and the way I dealt with it was painting all of the walls in bright colours. I had turquoise in the sitting room, yellow hallway and stairs, a pink bedroom, a lime green loo... but I tied it all together by painting the skirting boards and coving throughout the property in bright matt white. The skirting and coving was very simple and had been put in retrospectively (albeit not by me) - in fact I think the coving was made of some sort of polystyrene, so I imagine it was incredibly cheap, although it didn't look it - and I think it made a huge difference. So I'd certainly consider adding that, as it makes the room look more "finished" instead of the cheap standard that council flats usually aim for. For me, this was transformative. As I say - it's so subjective. But although it's undeniably a faff to paint a room, remember that it's also cheaper than buying new furniture, and easier to replace and start again! For what it's worth, I now rent out that flat and recently had it painted in a neutral off-white colour, with new grey carpets. It looks smart, but not nearly so characterful as it previously did. Like I say: subjective. But the important thing, to me, is walking into a place and it immediately feeling like home. Be brave and paint those walls ;)

I think the room is looking great. I’m useless with colour but I’m seeing purple in your wallpaper and pink for the fire so would try to bring these colours in. I would also add a lamp on the side table and bring in wood for warmth. If this table is too big there’s a smaller one. The only issue with a rug (ignore the one used it was just to help my poor photoshop skills 😂 ) is that the back sofa overlaps the hearth so a rug can’t sit under the feet. If this bothers you, you could layer rugs, could be sheepskins or round rugs etc or just have a small rug in front of the sofa facing the fire with a table on
