Island proportion to kitchen size
Comments (17)That's more then enough space between the island and bifold door, and the island and the sink, not to worry. For your peace of mind, the island can be moved around before the final stage of installation, so just stand in front of it and check the distance, open the doors especially the dishwasher door and see if you can move around comfortably. If you are happy then let them finish the work. We had to move this whole island with the quartz as the ceiling lights were fitted slightly to the left....See Morekitchen Island - struggling to find pictures of island seating layout
Comments (28)Oh, you sound so stressed! Other than the 3D rendering, I would recommend the old cardboard box trick to show how tight all the spaces are. Not only will you not be able to stand in front of your beautiful sleek drawers when you open them - you'll have to stand next to them - imagine coming in the door from the hall with a bag of shopping or your kids coming in with backpacks and then sliding through an 87 cm space. You need a lot more circulation space for a comfortable, working kitchen AND you won't be able to visually appreciate this island of your dreams where it is currently (as Jonathan said). Perhaps move the kitchen and island down in front of the internal bifold doors so you can see the island from a distance and gain more width and then have the seating at the end with the TV on the wall you already suggested, like this photo that J posted: Good luck!...See MoreAdvice - what size kitchen island for 5 seats?
Comments (15)Hello, we have a 2300mm x 1200mm island and 4 seats altogether in a right angle ( 2 on each side ). On the 1200mm side there are 2 seats so 600mm per person, on the 2300mm side there is 1400mm for the seating so 700mm per person ( but need to take into account of the corner ). The overhang is 300mm. The proportions seem fine. I guess it also depend in the depth of your cupboards underneath. Definitely don't have 5 seats in a row, they look nice in photos but it would be tricky to talk to each other. I only have a photo without the seats at the moment but we have since bought bar stools and the proportions do work, it's just that my island is currently too messy to take a photo :-). I'll try and take one in the morning with the bar stools in!...See Moreinduction hob size help for island
Comments (42)Mine was an 800 before I removed the glass - the main fan section is smaller of course so I presume that it’s the actual canopy that makes the difference ie if the extractor canopy is 800 with an 800 hob then most of the steam that rises, should hit the top of the canopy and be drawn towards the extractor. Even though we removed the glass on ours, it will be set into a suspended wood canopy so in effect, the steam should do the same thing. I’m told induction hobs are super steamy, ha ha. We got a Neff extractor which is also v quiet so hoping it does the trick!...See MoreJonathan
